Dr. Timothy M Johnson, DDS

Timothy Johnson, D.M.D. received the American Academy of Periodontology’s Annual Student Award for scholarship upon graduation from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1987. Dr. Johnson then completed periodontal specialty training at the University of Alabama, one of the nation’s leading dental research institutions, with a joint appointment to the Veterans Administration Hospital. Dr. Johnson is one of a handful of periodontists in the country who holds a degree in pharmacy.
Dr. Johnson grew up locally in the Ocala area. Upon completing his education, he came back and set up private practice with noted periodontist, Dr. John Darby. Together they have enjoyed over 18 years of excellent partnership while maintaining offices both in Crystal River and Ocala.
Dr. Johnson has extensive training in all aspects of dental implant therapy, to include soft & hard tissue surgical management of deficient ridges, and the restoration of dental implants. Additionally, he completed post …graduate curriculums at the Noble Biocare, Pikos, and Misch Implant Institutes.
Dr. Johnson is a Fellow in the International Congress of Oral Implantologist and a member of all relevant dental associations including: the American Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology, Southern Academy of Periodontology, Florida Society of Periodontists, Central District Dental Association, Florida Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Academy of Osseointegration, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, Florida Society of Dental Anesthesiology, and the Marion County Dental Society. He has been Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President and President of the Marion County Dental Society.
Dr. Johnson believes that both periodontal and implant care are prosthetically driven, beginning with the restorative end in mind. He is a firm believer that a true professional must always be learning and growing, he is currently certified in four dental implant systems. Dr. Johnson stays educated on the latest dental advances so that every patient can be assured the finest, safest, and most comfortable care available today…and tomorrow.
Dr. Johnson’s hobbies include fishing, kayaking, and raising orchids.
