I am delighted with the excellent results of my lumbar laminectomy When my MRI showed severe stenosis, my G.P. referred me to Dr. Timothy Keenen at Pacific Spine Specialists in Tualatin. I was bent over with back and leg pain, saddle numbness and numb feet, and felt desperate for relief. Now, six weeks later, I can stand erect, I have no back pain and only minor foot numbness which should heal given more time. Since I was 81 years old and had been laid up for months, I was told my recovery could be slow and painful. However, I experienced relatively little pain. The incision healed swiftly. I am gardening again and plan to return to my yoga class tomorrow. My family and I are grateful for Dr. Keenen’s expertise. If a lumbar laminectomy is needed, I recommend Dr. Keenen. He performed a single level ALIF .. it didn’t help my pain, made it worse. After being completely disabled after the surgery, and me returning for answers for three years, I finally had a neurosurgeon look at me, who found via ct scan (which Keenan had never suggested) that Keenan used screws that were too long and went through my bones into my nerve space. Keenan admitted he made a mistake using screws that were too long.. but not until I took him proof. He should’ve ordered a cat scan, he did not. Nice office, nice staff. He just made a mistake, one which put me on disability at age 48.

What do the uninsured do for surgery, this is the wonderful Doctor I would love to have do my surgery. medicare/tricare ???

Excellent orthopedic spine surgeon! Took his time with me and did all the proper preliminary tests to determine what surgery would help me the most. Kind staff. I was able to get in quickly which was important to me. Follow up was excellent . My pain was gone after my cervicall fusion! Highly recommended.

I had spine surgery a few months ago. I had been told by another surgeon that my issues were too extensive for him to operate. I found Dr. Keenen through my physical therapist. Dr Keenen explained clearly and concisely what was wrong and what could be corrected. He showed me the MRI from several perspectives. The cross-section that he showed me illustrated the issues precisely. He answered questions clearly and concisely. Everything went as scheduled. When I had a question once I was home, he was on call himself, and again, answered my questions and resolved my issue. I had L4&5 cleaned out, the disc between the two removed and replaced, and L4&5 were fused. Results excellent; doctor excellent. I couldn't have asked for more.

From the very first visit with Dr. Keenen over my injured back to being released by him after having back surgery by him, Dr. Keenen and his whole staff were top notch. I can't say enough how Dr. Keenen took the all the time needed to explain to me what the options were and the about the procedure he preformed. The results from the back surgery have made a fantastic difference in the quality of my life. Very seldom in my experience with physicians have I been fortunate to have one like Dr. Keenen whose "bed side manner" and surgeon skills are both a 5 star rating out of 5. Still can't believe the difference before and after this surgery.

My initial consultation with Dr. Keenen was very informative and pleasant. After meeting Dr. Keenen I came away feeling that his interest was to do whatever the best option was for me, making me feel very comfortable with him. From there through post-surgery my interactions with Dr. Keenen were outstanding. Dr. Keenen and his staff always exemplified confidence and personal care. It has been two months since my surgery and I feel like a new person.

I had been fearful of back surgery because of family history. two of my sibs and my mom have had similar issues and did not get the relief they had hoped for with other surgeons. Dr. Keenen made me feel comfortable right from the start, answered all my questions and was certainly not pushy. I am happy to report that I am pain free for the first time in many years. He gave me the best Christmas present I could hope for. I am 9 weeks post op!

Dr. Keenen removed a cyst from my back and the sciatica pain went away immediately. Wonderful doctor. Completely trusted him to do a great surgery after my first visit with him.

First visit. Kind and gentle and soft spoken but obviously knows his "craft". I usually shop for several opinions. Not going to in this case. I know he will try his best to help me. Didn't mind the wait because I knew he was with another patient giving them the time that they needed.
