Dr. Timothy Paul Murphy, MD

Dr.Timothy Murphy is such a caring person and treats his patients so well.He is so good at diagnosing a medical issue and following thru with his patient to make sure patient is getting the best medical care.Dr.Murphy is a great doctor and cannot ask for any better than him.

In about 8 years that Dr. Murphy has been my Primary Care Physician I would see him once or twice a year for a physical exam. The exam would be very cursory, he didn't even bother to check my weight. Half of the times I was received by Dr. Murphy's assistant, rather then by himself. Responding to my complaint about hypertension, Dr. Murphy prescribed amplodipine and adjusted the dosage. After opening a concierge service Dr. Murphy became quite disinterested in regular patients. I noticed this especially when I moved to Medicare from a private Insurance company. When I needed to see a doctor in Florida, Dr. Murphy used this occasion to drop me as a patient and even refused to renew the prescription for my hypertension medicine, forcing me to go without medicine until I find a new PCP.

I met Dr. Murphy while I was the Director of Nursing Services in a Skilled Rehabilitation Center. His dedication, concern shinned through rather quickly. As the DNS I watch the physicians interact with the patients. We had poor physicians and a GREAT one Dr. Tim Murphy. Soon I became a patient of his. He has helped me through some very difficult and challenging times. He always there to listen, returns calls and sends a report to you when lab work is done., The staff are very staff are very kind and courteous. I have been in the witing room and have witnessed the most rude obnoxious people screaming at the staff - the staff have kept their calm. I don't know how though. If you want a A+++++++ physician - Dr. Murphy is the type of physician you want.

i totally agree w/ this post: The staff is beyond rude AND they deny you access to speak with the doctor. Dr. Murphy is very poor with follow-up, and getting him to refer you to a specialist or offer any treatment is like pulling teeth. He makes you come in for multiple appts, where he does the exact same thing at each one, before finally "allowing" you to seek the proper expertise needed. Addressed the rude staff with him..he seemed surprised.He also bumps appts sometimes (personally I think b/c he's trying to ramp up his concierge practice, but doesn't have enough clientelle yet to let his "regular" patients go. Good luck to the concierge folks...imagine paying over and above for that poor service!

I bring my father to Dr. Murphy and have been doing so for the past five years. He is by far the most caring physician we have ever had. We came to hear about Dr. Murphy from my children's pediatrician, a colleague of Dr. Murphy's at Dedham Medical Associates. We followed Dr. Murphy here to Weston when he left DMA to open his own practice. Dad is 80 years old and has a multitude of health issues, the most significant being lung disease. Despite my father's advanced age, Dr. Murphy's approach to controlling his illness is one that is as aggressive as it should be and focuses on Dad's quality of life. He is able to stay at home and feels stronger and healthier than ever. My family and I are so grateful to have found Dr. Murphy and would highly recommend him as a physician.

I recently changed from my primary care physician who was in a large practice, to Dr. Murphy. I was recommended to him by one of his patients, and I am so glad I made the move. The patient wait time is very short--waiting room and exam room. At my first patient visit, I explained to him a chronic condition I have--no other doctor has ever been able to tell me, or explain to me, why I may have this unusual condition and what to do about it. I have never received a diagnosis. Dr. Murphy listened to what I had to say, and started by ordering the appropriate labs. He called me with my lab results, explained to me what they meant, and set a concrete plan of action for this chronic condition, and referred me to the appropriate specialists. I have finally found a doctor who cares enough to follow through and find the answer, instead of throwing up his hands, like all the other physicians I have seen through the years! He explained to me the steps we will take to find an answer to… this puzzle. He has an excellent bedside manner, and I have always found him and his staff to be very accessible and professional. I highly recommend him.

I have been a patient of Dr. Murphy for several years. Followed him from Waltham, to Dedham and then to Weston. I have been extremely pleased with him. My sister and mother are also patients of his. I highly recomend him as a doctor.

Dr. Murphy has been in Weston for several years now, and I wish I had known about him sooner! He is by far the best doctor that I have ever had, and I hold him in the highest regard. I have several complicated medical problems and need a doctor who is interested in knowing me as a person and committed to remaining on top of my conditions and my progress. Dr. Murphy is that doctor. He is thorough--he asks questions and really listens to and analyzes the answers; he is experienced and incredibly knowledgeable--he explains what's going on in the body when he is describing an illness or condition and is excellent (and very patient!) about answering questions; his bedside manner is lovely--he is one of the kindest people I have ever met, and he truly, truly cares about his patients, often checking in after appointments to make sure that all is going well. His staff is also wonderful. They work hard to accommodate same day appointments and are always pleasant and helpful. I could not… ask for a better physician or practice, and I would recommend Dr. Murphy and his office to anyone and everyone without hesitation. He is simply the best.
