Dr. Timothy Michael Phelan, MD

I went in for concerns with my breasts, I have had severe breast pain for 5-6 months now, not pregnant hormones are at a normal low level. I had written down numerous symptoms and complaints of the situation as to why I was there. He started off by telling me to wear a sports bra for pain and use primrose oil. DIDN'T EVEN DO THE EXAM YET. then goes on to do a 5 second breast exam laying down, (didn't look at them sitting up, or how heavy and uneven they are, or the bruising, or anything) and then said If the primrose doesn't work (which he recommended I order off amazon) then I can get a prescription for a testosterone cream and said "you might grow a mustache but your sex drive will be off the chart, i'm sure your boyfriend will appreciate that" I've never been so dismissed in my life. Do not go here... EVER

Dr. Phelan has always been a good listener and doesn’t rush through an appointment. He treats you like you want to be treated over your concerns. My Gyn doctor for 30 years.

I’ve been going to see Dr. Phelan since 1986. He delivered 2 of my children and now treats one of them my 20 year old daughter. I love him and Paula and would never go anywhere else. I trust him to know what is right for me and he always takes his time to make sure He hears what my complaints are and does everything to make sure I’m healthy. His staff is awesome especially Terry!

I had issues with insurance and i was about 14 weeks pregnant when I called for an appointment. I decided to choose Dr. Phelan after much consideration. i called his office to make an appointment and the person I spoke with fist asked me if I had taken an at home pregnancy test, This was the first question I was asked, nothing else, and I told her i believed I was about 14 weeks along. she told me that they would no be able to treat me because of my lack of prenatal care and that my only option would be Shands hospital in Jacksonviile. i am 44 years old. This is my 3rd baby. i started taking prenatal vitamins as soon as i found out i was pregnant. i eat healthy, excersise regularly and i donot smoke or drink. i was devistated when i was told this. I ended up getting an appointment with another OBGYN through NFOBGYN without issues. This person at Dr. Phelan's office making my appointment knew nothing about me other than i was 14 weeks pregnant and had not been seen by a doctor yet. I… donot think anyone seeking prenatal care should be refused treatment. I can not tell you how bad this made me feel.

and we all loved Mike and his staff. He is my favorite doctor of my life (I am 73). He saved my life, and my daughter's when I had a late-life dangerous pregnancy. He saved hes again during her first delivery when there were issues with an unknown anesia issue threatened her! We owe him sooooo much

Dr Phelan and his staff are very courteous. They were knowledgable and helpful in explaining everything. I was induced with my 2nd daughter and he showed up on time, explained everything, and answered all of our questions. He is very easy to talk to and makes you feel comfortable. Even my husband, who was uneasy about going to the gyn with me, felt comfortable in speaking with him. I would recommend him to anyone!

Dr. Phelan was my wife's OB/GYN. We were both very happy with him (even though I had the easy part). We never had to wait very long in the waiting room, and he always took his time with us. He delivered our baby, and was very fast during the c-section. My wife had minimal pain afterwords and he stopped by to see her everyday we were in the hospital, even on his normal day off. After talking to some friends, we found out that he was the doctor that delivered them and their kids.

I had this implanted in 2005 before my Hysterectomy after being advised that the problem was to much blood flow going to my ovaries so they put the stints in on both the Left and Right and after having an MRI the R side has gave me constant pelvic pain since and now the L is also starting to do the same I recently started having siezures and need a MRI but am worried it may cause more damage which I was advised it couldn't/wouldn't. I need advise on what I should do!!!!! Also just FYI the R side looks (which is the side that has gave me the most problems looks like a slinky that a 2 year old has been playing with while the L side looks I would guess normal.

My first tip off should have been the patient files piled on the desk opposite of the welcoming desk, where anyone could have gotten a hold of them. Then, a test being ordered for me when I wasn't aware of it. And finally, the doctor telling me I will need a c-section, which sounds reasonable, but 4 weeks before my due date?? No, thank you!The rest of the office staff is wonderful, but I wish the doctor at this facility behaved more responsibly.

I am 42 years old and have been seeing Dr. Phelan since I was 16. His office has delivered all three of my sons; with Dr. Phelan personally delivering my 3rd in 1995. I don't know what I would do if I had to ever change my "gyn" office or doctors.
