Dr. Timothy Herbert Sanford, DO

I received a bill for a visit that said my insurance denied coverage for that visit, and that if I didn't think this was correct, I should call my insurance. I called my insurance, and they told me that yes, they did cover the visit, and that I should only owe a certain amount allowed by the insurance. I went to the doctor office and told them this. They basically said I was an idiot, that they were right, and gave me a copy of the denial by the insurance company to prove their point of view. Well, the copy of the denial said straight out in black and white that the doctor office had submitted the visit and it had been approved, then the doctor office submitted the visit a second time to the insurance. The insurance denied the second submission because they had already approved the first submission for that visit. The doctor office did not change the bill until I had to have the insurance company contact them via phone. My insurance company could not believe that they had lost… the paperwork from the first submission, then submitted a second time, and tried to have me pay for the whole charges instead of what the insurance company said was allowable the first time. The insurance company told me to contact them if I received an incorrect bill again, and they would contact the doctor office with a letter, because billing me like that is illegal. I will not be using this doctor anymore.

I have been a patient of the Sanfords for >10 years. I drive over 45 minutes each way to see them. Their staff is friendly and kind. Their facility is clean and well maintained. Dr. Tim and Dr. Tracy Sanford, and Jearlyn Nick ARNP treat their patients with respect and kindess, all while expressing thorough medical knowledge over a wide variety of conditions. I needed an appointment just the other day (it was a friday too!), called the office, the staffed answered promptly and were very friendly, scheduled me an appointment for that afternoon. I arrived to my appointment and didnt have to wait even 10 minutes before I was face-to-face with the physician. My appointment was not rushed, and I felt she took the time with me that I deserved as her patient. She listened to all my concerns, and I felt that my health was in good hands. Excellent clinic!! I would definetly recommend Sanford Family Medicine!

I don't usually do reviews, but do not go see Dr. Tim. I am one of many patients who is unhappy with his doctor abilities. Very rude if you ask questions. Doesn't listen to you- makes you feel dumb. Will drive an hour away instead of five minutes to see a different doctor.
