Dr. Tina Marie Lam, MD

Normally I am very private about my medical, but feel I would be remiss to not share my experience here for the benefit of other women. Dr. Lam is truly a most incredible physician and breast surgeon. I am so grateful for the physician who redirected me to her based on observing better patient experiences and outcomes. Dr. Lam's followup, care, attention, beside manner and surgical precision and acumen are exceptional. Coming under the care of Dr. Lam has been a life changer after nearly a year of pain, suffering, and limitation on normal activities following an earlier simple biopsy with a different breast surgeon where the surgical wound never healed. Even though the procedure Dr. Lam did was much more extensive my recovery has been smooth, and seamless. I simply want to shout from the rooftops how appreciative and grateful I am. She is amazing, as are her wonderful staff. If you need care in this area, go see Dr. Lam. You will be in good hands.

This was one of the worst medical consultations I have ever had in Gainesville and have lived here since 1993. Dr. Lam railroaded me and wouldn't let me get two words in edgewise. She told me that the controversial studies on estradiol were mostly conducted by "men, and white men at that." She kept harping on my weight as a factor in breast cancer. Again, I was there for a BIOPSY, not a weightloss consultation and not even a gynecological consultation. I went to her to find out if I had cancer. THAT'S IT! After her long diatribe, I told her about a very uncomfortable experience I had with weightloss and how I circumvented it, and she told me she thought I enjoyed "drama" and "playing the victim." The icing on the cake was that she was not going to do the biopsy afterall. She said she doesn't do those kinds of biopsies. !@#$%^&*!

I experienced Dr. Lam to have an angry and offensive attitude when asked questions. There was no available support (nurse, or nurse practitioner) for after surgery care, complications or concerns. Any problems that arose had to wait until Dr. Lam was available, which was only Monday through Wednesday. Dr. Lam does not recommend physical therapy after surgery. I would not recommend using this surgeon.

I was referred to Dr. Lam a year ago for a breast biopsy and subsequent breast cancer surgery. She performed three surgeries in all. She has been a blessing to me and my husband! She truly cares about me as a patient and woman. She carefully explained the diagnosis, treatment options and choices to my husband and me. She was patient, kind, professional and compassionate. My oncologist and radiologist both commented on what a "beautiful job" Dr. Lam did. She is a very knowlegable and gifted surgeon! Today I had a follow up appointment with her, and we celebrated my one year anniversary of being a breast cancer survivor! She tuly is a wonderful doctor!

Dr Lam was always there for me. She was very honest and direct with my diagnosis and presented options for my consideration. My surgery was 3 years ago and I continue to be followed by her. I found her to be very professional, knowledgable,and sensitive to my needs and fears. A very excellent person and Dr.

Dr Lam is one of the most professional and caring physicians I have encountered. She explained my surgery in a concise manner so that I understood my options. I would recommend her to anyone who wants excellent care.

Dr.Lam was at the very least condescending, and at the very best a bitter doctor.When trying to explain my condition, her reply was "no need for drama." It was almost like she was trying to push someone into a confrontation with her. I find her abrasive personality and condescending attitude toward patients to be unprofessional.I would recommend her only if I greatly disliked this person and felt the need to punish them in some way.God, bless the man she is married to.
