Dr Tinuola O. Ademola, MD

A good primary care physician listens to and treats their patients like partners, not uneducated idiots. A good primary care physician must have excellent communication skills including the English language. A good primary care physician doesn't differ treatment offerings based on one insurance plan vs another, and doesn't abandon patients just because they have atypical diagnoses or hard-to-treat illnesses. A good primary care physician maintains relationships with colleagues of many specialties so she can *personally* refer you to the best specialist available and communicate a comprehensive history to that specialist. A good primary care physician knows that in today's reality certain specialties are not covered by insurance- leaving the PCP as the only hope for prescriptions and treatments. Ms. Sola Ademola is none of the above. I cannot even dignify her title as a medical doctor as she should not be licensed to practice medicine until her English skills reach a proficiency… level where she is not deadly dangerous in her miscommunication to other professionals. In the past year I made the mistake of leaving a good PCP in another medical foundation to come to PAMF and chose Ms. Ademola because PAMF (Sutter Health) holds the doctor monopoly throughout the SF Peninsula where I live. PAMF advertised itself as having the most comprehensive list of doctors and specialties. As someone who currently has Medi(non)care as their primary insurance, I know that it is well known that a lot of doctors and some specialties like psychiatry are just not available. All PCPs know this, and the good ones do all they can to compensate for this hole in gov't health care. Ms Ademola, on the other hand, either does not have any professional relationships or refused to provide specialist referrals because she acts as a PAMF gatekeeper. Either way, in every case, a "referral" from her was permission to try to pick a specialty doctor from those listed on the PAMF website. In every case but one. The specialty doctor either refused to treat due to insurance or bad information received from Ms. Ademola. This left Ms Ademola as my only hope for the three prescription medications that treat my condition effectively and safely and allow me to live with an acceptable quality-of-life. She refused to prescribe, as well as refer, citing the need to be "safe". By not prescribing and not referring to a specialist, she was effectively refusing to treat and abandoning a patient. I must purchase my necessary medications from pharmacies in India of questionable quality which is not "safe". Apparently, she expected me to slink away quietly into the dark shadows that we "medicare" low-lifes come from. When I did not, and instead reminded her of the scenario where, if I don't find a treatment professional, access to meds from India gets cutoff and my quality of life degrades, i would be at high risk for suicide. She took the word "suicide" completely out of context and handed it over to the police on a 5150 form as a way of getting the last word. I can't even begin to describe the horror that followed that one act, except to say that civil legal action is now in progress. If you still choose Ms Ademola as your PCP, you've been warned.
