Dr. Tito D Pena Guzman, MD

My husband and I were at Mayo for 3 Days and we started our with a different Internal Medicine Dr on Day 1. Had read reviews of Dr Guzman prior to meeting him and the reviews spot on. Not being prepared by reviewing previous days notes, lab results, etc. actually made my husband feel worse mentally by asking why he wasn’t working and stating that he needed to stop having medically necessary orthopedic surgery because that’s what is causing his Anemia. Not acknowledging me upon entering the room, had to introduce myself and did not even make eye contact once introduced. Not a grid experience.

Unfortunately Dr. Guzman was my first and last contact at the Mayo Clinic. Every other doctor I saw was top notch, what you would expect at the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Guzman seemed disinterested and aloof. I had to tell him my test results and remind him of the medications I was taking even though he was looking at a medication list. You are told at the Mayo Clinic that your internist is the quarterback of your care - calling all the plays. Sadly Dr. Guzman was asleep during the game.
