Compassionate, warm bedside manner, very knowledgeable

Arrogant, failed to diagnose diabetes Failed to review tests and prior back surgeries details even though he had access to them before ordering aerobic exercises and weight loss with a simple diagnosis of inactivity. Even after being told that weight gain occured after the sudden onset of back pain and becoming imobile due to pain which a new dr diagnosed as failure of prior surgery (fusions and discetomy x 3) as well as fracture and herniation. He also said my neck pain was from acne on my neck. My blood work clearly showed diabetes and he did not diagnose that either. After reviewing my labs I received an email from him again stating I only needed to lose weight and ( I am female) also to check every week my testicles for lumps and let him know if I find any. My husband and i confronted him on my next apt and he looked my husband in the eyes and said your wife is lying I never did that. I stood up and threw a copy of the email at him and we are done and walked out. Before… my husband got out the door he said it again that I was lying not realizing the paper I threw at him was his email. I found a new dr and never heard a word from Paiva

Extremely difficult to get to see the doctor and even more difficult to get drug refills. Even the pharmacy says it takes forever to get a response to their messages.

Dr Tobias has been an excellent Dr for me. He is engaging, professional, and cares about his work.
