Dr. Battaglia is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in the treatment of sports injuries of all types, with a particular focus on arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the knee and shoulder. This includes treatment of rotator cuff and instability problems of the shoulder, as well as treatment of ligament, cartilage and meniscal injuries of the knee.

Dr. Battaglia is a partner with Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists, PC, and serves as head physician for numerous area high school and collegiate teams, including Syracuse University. He is an active member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA) and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM), and has authored or co-authored more than 30 scientific articles and book chapters. He sits on the editorial board of Arthroscopy, the premier journal of his specialty and is an Associate Master Instructor for AANA, teaching advanced arthroscopic methods to other physicians …across the country.

Disappointing, unpleasant experience. Should have more carefully reviewed the other negative reviews, even though only a few of them. Found a different provider with much better communication skills and medical guidance.

I said second time but don't think it was a negative the first time that was 8 or 9 years ago and at 70 years of age I fully expect to have a few aches and pains! I did ask if there was warranty on the first repair as a joke but was told I missed it by about a year! Have dealt with at least one other doctor at this practice for a hand injury and that doctor too was very good and listens when you talk something that is lacking at times with doctors!

He was disrespectful, didn’t listen to concerns, was going to do a cookie cutter surgery. Changed surgeons and received excellent, individualized care elsewhere. He was just a total jerk.

He has done two knee surgerys for me and i wouldn't want anybody else. He is the nicest guy

I had 2 other ACL surgeries by other doctors that both failed. Dr. Battaglia was recommended by someone in the the Syracuse University sports department. He re-did my ACL reconstruction and also fixed meniscus damage. I have been able to return to soccer and skiing with no further issues. I honestly never thought my knee would be this good again.
