Dr. Todd A Curran, DO

Dr. Curran spent less than two minutes in the room with me and completely dismissed every concern that I had about my shoulder. I shared the concerns that my physical therapist had (also through OSS) and he was dismissive of those as well. He was upset that I was not taking NSAIDs but didn’t allow me to explain that medically I can’t. He attempted to check movement of my shoulder and it was significantly painful though he said range of motion was fine and he didn’t think anything was wrong. I was extremely disappointed in my care from him considering it didn’t feel like care at all. He was rude, dismissive and did not care to listen. He gaslit me about my own medical history and pain. I had to beg to get an MRI referral from him as my physical therapist thinks it may be helpful. He was rude about that too. I left the office in tears. Now I feel nervous about seeing anyone for my shoulder due to fear of having an experience like this again. If I could give 0 stars, I would.

Dr. Curran has an excellent success rate and im sure he's great to deal with when everything goes well. However he has issues dealing with less then perfect results. The communication between his team and physical therapy is terrible. After shoulder surgery to remove a bone spur I've done therapy 3 times a week and work 50 hours a week. Im very active. He says I have Frozen Shoulder from not pushing hard enough. TALK TO THERAPY! Like I said he's probably awesome when things go his way. He has a poor attitude with my issue.

He was very helpful when explaining my injury and how he was going to repair the tear.

The problem I have is that I can’t use my arm very well, can’t lift anything heavy with it and, although I can tolerate pain more than most, it hurts ALL the time.

Dr. Curran was very knowledgeable and diagnosed me correctly with my hip pain. My only reason for a four instead of a five star rating is that he seemed very rushed when he came in to visit. Efficient though!

Dr. Curran did a knee replacement for me in February. Everything is moving along well. I have a 12 week appointment in May. He has answered all my questions, and concerns. This is the fourth surgery he has done for me and everyone has come out just fine. I did wait about 1/2 hour in the outside waiting room but once I got into a patient room things moved quite well.

I have had two experiences with Dr Curran now in the last year and a half on September 5 of 2024. He replaced my right hip and everything went well. I was home. I think I stayed too nice for that only because I had recently undergone open-heart surgery so yeah now today, I mean yesterday he replaced my left knee for me, which was a conversion because my left knee already had a partial implant that was put in there 20 years ago and I now needed a full knee replacement because the partial implant was obviously getting worn out after 20 years. It only had a life expectancy of 10 to 12 years so then he replacing the entire knee. I stayed overnight and they released me at 11 AM and I was home before noon and the surgery happened yesterday around noon so within one freaking day I’m in and out with a successful knee replacement surgery that was supposed to be complex because it was a conversion from partial to full knee replacement. He said no problem yeah Dr Curran exudes a quiet type of… confidence and knowledge and I respect that in a professional.
