Dr. Todd Christopher Pitts, MD

I destroyed my right knee about 50 years ago. I continued to traumatize it through a 22 year USMC career. I could not sleep at night and was in constant pain. Dr Pitts thru his skilled hands has remedied the cause of pain and given me a new lease on life. He is kind, considerate and listens attentively. I have no qualms with turning my other knee over to him. His staff is extremely professional and proficient. I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone needing TKR. Sincerely, Sterling Earley

Doctor Pitts was recently my ortho for a left total hip replacement. I did a lot of research before meeting with him for the first time. There are actually quite a few variables involved in getting a joint replace. Anterior route or posterior? Free-hand or robotic assisted? Etc. His specialized training and methods are probably more "new school" than some. Combining tech and traditional med fit me perfectly. After meeting with him, my confidence soared. He has a capable and helpful staff, for starters. His PA is aces. He laid out a plan in simple and non-scary ways. I mean, you're getting a new hip for gosh sake...it is a bit scary no matter who and where you'd be doing it. I must admit, i was a bit trepidatious at first...thinking "can i find a big-time person in a small city like Abilene to do this work for me"? I've had a couple other procedures with world-class care previously, so have high expectations. So, how'd it go for me? Precisely and exactly as he said it… would. My hip was in horrible shape and took some extra work to get it perfect, but by all accounts, he did. i'm less than a week post-op. Had some post-op complications (not his fault) but as for the surgery: I have the most beautiful 5" scar you'll ever see, barely any swelling or bruising, and my pain meds? They consist of a couple tylenol or alleve every now and then. In one day i was moving with a walker like nothing happened. In three i was walking unassisted, though using a cane for a bit helps you retrain your gait. He has consistently followed up by phone with my wife and i to make sure i'm convalescing correctly and positively, and my experience with the entirety of his end of the deal simply couldn't be better. I would never say the same for some of the other things and hospitals involved and they will get separate reviews. I could not recommend Dr. Pitts more highly and would hope if you're in need of this "last resort" type situation, he's your guy. No doubt.

Dr. Pitts did robotic hip replacement. In one day. Out the next. Phenomenal recovery. Being a retired RN of 47 years, I was overly impressed with his infection control. I cannot even tell I ever had a hip replacement. I hope he never leaves Abilene. Pounding the floors all those years has required fixing 3 joints. I see more fixing in my future.

Dr. Pitts did an Excellent job with my robotic assisted knee replacement. I walked without assistance on day 2 and have continued to progress without incident. His office staff is friendly and welcoming. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Pitts!

7 weeks ago I met the most kind, compassionate, and caring Physician ever. Dr Todd Pitts is an amazing surgeon. He did a total knee revision for me and I am in less pain than before surgery. I was off prescriptions meds 3 weeks post surgery. I have full extension and flexion at 124. I reached these goals 3 weeks after surgery. That can only be contributed to his expertise and the therapy goals he set for me. Thank you Dr. Pitts!
