Dr Shanks is great!

Had a Craniectomy, Laminectomy and Duraplasty. Surgery went well. Dr. Shanks was arrogant and his follow-up care was terrible.

Know what needs done.

Dr Shanks was extremely personable. Explained his diagnosis well & made it clear surgery would be his last option.

Dr. Shanks told me that I had severe spinal stenosis and thus not a candidate for surgery. I am age 80 and living with severe pain, having frequent falls/injuries. After he gave me the diagnosis, he walked toward the door and seemed to be in a hurry to get out of the room. He did not seem to care and did not take time to discuss treatment options or ask if I had any questions. I got the impression that maybe since I was not a surgery candidate, he was not interested in my care. HIs bedside manners leave a lot to be desired. I only saw him once and will not return.

I would like to thank Dr Shanks for everything he has did for me. All I can say without all of his knowledge and going above and beyond I would be paralyzed, never walk again.... He is a great Doctor, person and our family considers him a friend.Thanks for everything...
