Dr. Tomfouad F A Ghobrial, MD

I was seen by Dr Ghobrial about 2 years ago for shoulder pain and instability from a work related accident. I seen Dr Ghobrial twice which the first time he ordered physical therapy which I completed with no relief. Both appointments I was examined by his assistant. The second appointment Dr Ghobrial suggested steroid injections which i politely disagreed with. His assist stated he disagreed with him and agreed with me that I needed surgery and steroid injections wouldn't help. When I politley disagreed with Dr Ghobrial he immediately became aggitated and left the room. When he returned he told me if I didn't like his opinion then I could go to Dr Bal in Morgantown. I stated that was fine. I was seen by Dr Bal who performed the surgery and stated my labrum was significantly torn almost in half from the top back of my shoulder to underneath of my armpit. I also had a small rotator cuff tear. Dr Ghobrial was very rude and not caring to the patient. He also does not like to be disagreed… with.

Although Dr. Ghobrial has not performed surgery on me for either of my two unrelated orthopedic problems, I Very much appreciate both how he made sure I understood everything he knew about my particular conditions, and how he, also, at my request, took a very conservative treatment plan rather than try to persuade me to have the surgery that he said was the only way to completely fix my problems. He makes it So obvious that he is a very caring person who's only desire is to do his best to reduce his patient's pain and improve function. Dr. Ghobrial has definitely earned my trust and if either, or both, surgeries recommended to me become unavoidable, I will, absolutely, trust him to do them. An added, and appreciated, bonus is the quality of his office personal and Physician's Assistant. At All my appointments I have been treated like I am very important to them and always received welcoming smiles, in addition to obvious dedication and efficiency in doing all aspects of their jobs.… Being honest, which I do my best to be always, out of his entire group of employees, there has only been one who I truly cannot include in those compliments. Just one added note, Jody (PA), has impressed me greatly. She is Extremely knowledgeable, answers All questions, and has an awesome "bedside manner". She really puts me at ease and has earned my full confidence, just like Dr. Ghobrial has. I very much appreciate Dr. Ghobrial and his team. One more quick note; I have had 8 orthopedic surgeries, numerous others for other conditions, and worked 40 years in Prosthetics and Orthotics. While that certainly does not mean that I know all that Doctors and PAs know, it Does mean that I have a much better understanding of Orthopedics than the Average patient. I recommend that if you have orthopedic problems now, or in the future, you would make a wise choice in choosing Dr. Ghobrial.

I had hip replacement surgery in 2016 and have been pain-free since. Dr. Ghobrial is an excellent surgeon, reassuring, and very kind. I would recommend him for any type of orthopedic surgery.
