Dr. Tom D Hansen, MD

He was my Doctor in Iowa for several years. I totally miss him. He was awesome and cared about his patients... I have not found a doctor that i feel comfortable with like i did him. DH

Dr Hansen is a great dr he sctualy meets with his patients and listens to their complaints as well as reviews all of their medical records relating to their issue before recommending treatment. Whether it be surgical an injection or medication I had previously had a terrible experience when receiving a injection when was sent to Dr Hansen. He wanted to try an injection again Dr Hansen knew I was at best leery to this. But we talked about it and I agreed to the injection there was no comparison as to the previous experience I had had No complaints with Dr Hansen this just shows the differane between a doctor who cares about his patients and one that does not

Dr Hansen was my pain doc for 14 years while he practiced in Iowa. I am a chronic back pain sufferer. Dr H was both direct and caring in his dealings with me. My care required multiple procedures, but always approached in a very conservative fashion. Making sure we explored the least invasive options first. I was very sad to see him leave Iowa.

I was having horrible pain in my neck and Dr Hansen did a procedure that totally took the pain away. Then I was having so much back pain and it was radiating down my leg. I could hardly get to my car after work. I had x-rays, CT scans MRI's and Dr Hansen was the only Dr that noticed the tumor I had. He immediately set me up with a surgeon. After that tumor was removed, that back/leg pain was gone. Dr Hansen is amazing! I wish so much that he was still here.

Dr. Hansen is such a great Doctor. He really does care about his patients. No matter what anyone else says, he is the rest doctor in the Pain Management world. Do not hesitate to go see him if you truly want to be seen and taking care of with any of your issues with pain. I seen him in the Des Moines area for 4 years and a really wished he was still here. I’m thrilled that “Dr” Hansen has left the Iowa Clinic and hope he’s gone from pain management for good. As a patient who was caused hospitalization three times by this quack not reading my chart, I feel extremely lucky to have survived him. I truly believe he’s a quack.

Have been treated by this Dr for over 7 years. Has always helped me find alternatives for pain control when other treatments stopped working. He recommended the spinal nerve stimulator after 4 surgeons said a fusion was not an option. I was able to achieve 75-80% relief from the test phase. I waited 3 weeks for approval and had surgery scheduled in 6 days to get the permanent implant...I received a call from the iowa Clinic Pain management this afternoon and was told Dr Hansen was no longer with the clinic and that they were referring me to another doctor. Dr Hansen was able to provide an option that I have not had in 22 years. Now its all in limbo! Nice Patient Treatment iowa Pain Clinic....I want my Doctor!!!

Dr. Hansen has helped me work with my L5 back pain.

I have many years of lower back issues and a back surgery. Ive been to other pain mgt doctors and found Doc Hansen to be best by a long shot! He is pleasant to talk to and kept me relaxed and calm during the procedure!

The patient load is just too large, partly no fault of his own, there are few pain management physicians left practicing in this area. He is unable to take the time he should with each patient due to the overwhelming load.
