Dr. Tom D Wang, MD

Dr.Wang fixed my nose after over 13 botched surgeries from another surgeon. I had a very complicated case and a very deformed nose. He used rib and ear cartilage to rebuild my nose. I am forever grateful to him for making me normal again. It fits my face perfectly. He is also great with fillers and Botox!

I had a severe deviated septum obstructing air in my right nostril. Dr Wang patiently explained my left nostril was collapsing when I inhaled through my nose. I had large turbinates as well, reducing air flow in the upper region of my nose. Dr Wang repaired all of those issues perfectly. While sedated I asked him to straighten my nose and refine the ball at the end. He also smoothed out a small bump in the middle. I consulted with several surgeons before deciding on Wang. He was the most knowledgeable and the most professional. I LOVE my new nose. I love the subtle changes. It looks perfect and not overdone. I love breathing normal. It has changed my life and I would want anyone I know to use Dr. Wang. There was so much work to do on my nose, even taking a part of my ear to reinforce my left nostril. Not even a hint of a scar. Even when filling my prescription, the pharmacists would heap praise on how talented he is and how they've had family fly cross country to be his patient. I… couldn't be more thrilled with the results!!!!

We reviewed all things in detail of what I was wanting with surgery done on my nose, it was clear on what specific areas of interest he was to work on. No discussions that he could not do the job fully and as per discussion. The surgery has been completed. There are several things at question now. I do not trust Dr Wang. It is hard to get a straight answer out of him. He does not follow directions well. I regret going to him and have seen another Doctor to see if we can fix what I have asked to be fixed.

I had my large septal perforation closed with a prosthetic button by Dr. Wang. It was a simple, hour long procedure under local anesthesia. He seemed to come alive when he was there in day surgery; obviously this is the part of the job he is most passionate about. He did a great job, I can breathe a lot better and there was not even any bruising or swelling. He really made the button fit to my nose. I highly recommend him for this procedure.

I do not recommend dr. Wong at all. He made my broken nose look super bad. I have one flared nostril and one normal one and I can't breathe normal from my nose as it has collapsed on the inside :( I am planning a revision as soon as time will allow from another doctor definitely not him. He didn't even care when I showed him my ugly nose and he is not a good surgeon. U will regret seeing him. Choose another doctor. Trust me.

Dr. Tom Wang is a scar revision MASTER. My nose scar is essentially gone.

My surgery was 2006. It resulted in aesthetic and nerve injuries. Wang denied anything was wrong. He would not answer my questions. He suggested I seek help elsewhere. He told me to try an acupuncturist and see an eye specialist. Cold as ice. When I returned many months later and told him who I had seen he said, "maybe you should stick with one person". I have spent thousands of dollars over the years seeking help. Just yesterday a saw a doctor who told me there was nothing he could do and volunteered his belief that I "had a case". He was the second doctor to volunteer such an opiniion without my asking. Wang has attempted to perform procedures he is not competent in doing in order to enlarge the scope of his practice. His job is to teach new technique to students. The patient's well beingcomes last. He is protected under OHSU's blanket. On his own he wouldn't last a year.

Dr. Wang did a fine job on my procedure. However, I am writing this to alert people that this physician has the worst bedside manner imaginable. I have been to many doctors and had other plastic surgery procedures. When someone is contemplating having work done on their face it is a monumental decision. His demeanor was very condescending, abrupt and cold. He behaved as though I were coming to his office to have a hang nail removed, not to have major surgery. Because of his attitude I was anxious prior to my procedure as well as during the healing process. He may be a capable surgeon but he is incredibly unpleasant to deal with.

Dr. Wang took over my care after my original surgeon wanted to wait a full year before deciding how to repair my injured nose. My nose was broken 6/17/11 when my dying horse in the throwes of colic kicked me across the face.I had a compressed airway and a bone fragment on the side I was kicked, and my nose was displaced. Dr. Wang took one look at my nose and read off a list of all the damage, suggesting I needed a septorhinoplasty with ear cartilage grafts to rebuild my crushed airway. He was able to do the surgery 9 months post injury. His precision and excellent technique improved by breathing dramatically. He hardly left any sign he was even there. He did a closed rhinoplasty and the ear graft incision is not even visible now. My nose is straight, my breathing is perfect, and best of all, all the headaches, sinus pain, and face pain is gone. Dr Wang is a caring advocate too, he helped me get my procedure approved when my insurance tried to deny it. He helped me prove it was… medically necessary. He is a great Doctor, and a gifted surgeon.
