Dr. Tong Jing, MD

I visited the Dr. Jing's office the first time last month, it was located at center of Flushing, next to a shopping mall. Very convenient location. The office was clean, organized very well. Very kind office staff. The doctor's treatment right on the point, no nonsense. I saw other doctors for years without solve my problem, but Dr. Jing can treat it within one week and solve my problem. Really nice.

The new office was spacious, large, the staff was very friendly. Dr. Jing, the best GI doctor I ever seen. Very good.

Dr Jing has poor bedside manner and his front staff are rude and inefficient. Took my mother, who was diagosed with rectal cancer. The office makes you return for a visit even to get a new prescription order for a procedure. Even though she had a visit with Dr. Jing a week ago. I explained it was difficult for my elderly mom to walk and why was it necessary to bring her back. They insisted. When we brought her in , he didnt even evaluate her , just handed order over. He does not explain things properly before or after procedures either.

I went in for a routine second stomach checkup early in the morning Aug 6, after the first one five years ago. I found them in a new location and improved setup. More importantly, the staff was just as friendly and professional like the first time, and the procedure went smoothly. I was able to get back to work like any other day after the procedure. I know who to call in five years for another followup.

Don’t go here. A complete sham and an arrogant doctor to top it off. My grandpa was referred to this guy for a surgery that ultimately became the worst experience of his life. Not only was the surgery unsuccessful, the doctor had talked himself up saying it was a simple procedure, other doctors aren’t as good as he is and even forced an endoscopy despite my grandpa having had one done recently. He had given absolutely NO details about the procedure or even the results to my grandpa... (he literally had to hear it from my grandma). My grandparents were also told to make sure they get to the hospital early for the surgery and the doctor, himself, ended up being half an hour late... really? The surgery was scheduled for 11:30... his nurse said he was still in his office (which is a 15 minute drive away) at 11:40. The worst part about all this is that the surgery wasn’t even successful - so not only did my grandpa just get put through a physical trauma on his body... including the… aftermath / side effects of the surgery... he was so emotionally distraught he couldn’t sleep or eat anything. The nurse followed up the next day, and when my grandma told her it was the worst experience he’s been put through and they’re extremely dissatisfied with the entire procedure, she said the doctor would call later to discuss. To no surprise, he didn’t call...

Dr. Jing is a very knowledgeable doctor. He was very patient and answered all my concerns even when his office was full of patients waiting for procedures. I have been seeing a couple doctors, but I feel Dr. Jing is a very honest, responsible, and sincere doctor. He is definitely an academic type of doctor. I highly recommend Dr. Jing. The office is one of the best in NYC.

Few weeks ago, I have colonoscopy done by Dr. Jing for some constipation issue and at my age I am due for screening anyway. In the clinical visit he asked my medical history, family history, dietary habit and so on. The visit was brief and I was scheduled for colonoscopy. The following week I had that done and was told I am ok, no problem. Just need to do some modification of diet and he prescribed me some probiotics. Dr. Jing seems very professional but not quite as warm as my PCP. I wish he could tell me more about dietary plan. Nonetheless, after couple of weeks of changing diet and probiotics, my constipation was much better. On top of that colonoscopy was done comfortably under anesthesia and result showed no problem. That gave me the peace of mind. Earlier this year, I had accompanied a friend and her husband to Dr. Jing’s clinic. My friend’s husband is a businessman who travels frequently to Asia. He had some abdominal discomfort and felt tired easily on the trips. Dr. Jing… did colonoscopy and biopsy for him and found some issue. He immediately told my friend’s husband not to leave for a planned trip. And arranged for him to see a surgeon in couple of days. He took quick and decisive action to help him and things turned out ok. Dr. Jing may not be the warmest doctor that I know, but he is responsible, knowledgeable and he get things done.

DO NOT GO HERE! THIS IS THE WORST DOCTOR (IF YOU CAN EVEN CALL THAT) I’VE EVER BEEN TO!! HE IS JUST TRYING TO MAKE MONEY AND SHOULD HAVE HIS LICENSE REVOKED!!! He completely misdiagnosed and mistreated me. Put me on 2 strong rounds of antibiotics for 2 full weeks without even examining me. He was so sure he knew what the problem was, did a colonoscopy right away the following day, and gave me a one-pager for a report which was so incomplete and incomprehensive. He couldn’t tell me anything from the colonoscopy, what my issues were, or what could make me better. Just that I need to take the antibiotics …which didn’t make much sense. I had to go to emergency in a few days since nothing got better and another doctor who figured out my problem in 5 minutes and it was completely different from what he was saying. They told me to stop the antibiotics right away. The antibiotics he gave me was not needed since I had no infection at all. I did not need a colonoscopy either, and this was… invasive and aggressive. I had to go through anesthesia for it. And definitely did not need biopsies!! Absolutely no need for it and biopsies are risky, it’s not just something simple people get done all the time. In addition to the misdiagnosis and mistreatment, this doctor is very rude and impolite. He has the worst attitude and just doesn’t care. When my mom called to speak to him because I was in too much pain, he was yelling at her saying I’m an adult and that I should call myself, hung up on her. When I called, he yelled saying he already told me I’d be in pain, and that I should go to my PCP or emergency and hung up on me too. He’s just ridiculous, and I’m shocked he’s allowed to practice medicine. The emergency was astounded by his diagnosis as well and said to never go back there again. When I wanted my biopsy results, he gave me issues with that too saying insurance hasn’t paid him so he won’t release. This is false, insurance paid him right away and we had to wait in his office a long while and explain that to him when he actually came out of his office and gave us a chance. He just always bugs out like he’s a teenager. He’s not professional at all. And when I did the colonoscopy the girl who put the IV in me wasn’t wearing gloves!! He does these colonoscopies in his office itself so it’s very clear to me now that he’s absolutely trying to make $. Most people do not need colonoscopies but the room was filled with people there to get them done. Fishy!! Also when we asked for whatever records he had on me, the first consultation report was completely off. He marked my pain level was 0 when clearly I was so so much pain, it’s why I went to see him. My pain was at 8. And also he made no note of my medical history when I pointed out very important things about my health, he just said it wasn’t relevant or was quiet when I asked him why these things were off on the report. I feel violated by this guy and he’s the absolute worst. Very disturbing and stressful experience and the things he put me through actually made my problems worse! STAY AWAY!!!

As a doctor studied at John Hopkins, Dr.Jing is one of if not the best gastroenterologist at Flushing. New and fantastic clinic with highly advance equipment. His clinic is busy at times however, I was still called on time. Highly recommended!
