Dr. Tony Alan Bianchetta, MD

Tony Bianchetta, M.D. is a member of Christiana Cares Internal Medicine and Med-Peds faculty and is the Associate Director of the Med-Peds Residency Program. Dr. Bianchetta earned his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine in 1994. He completed his four-year Med-Peds Residency at Christiana Care Health System and A.I. duPont Hospital for Children in 1998. He was Chief Resident in the Department of Medicine at Christiana Care from 1998-1999. He has been on the faculty at Christiana Care since that time. Dr. Bianchetta is Board-Certified in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. He is a Fellow in the American College of Physicians and the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is a member of the Medical Society of Delaware and American Medical Association. He has had a faculty appointment at Jefferson Medical College since 2002, and in 2007 he was appointed Clinical Assistant Professor in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. As a faculty preceptor in the Med-Peds Resident …Outpatient Practice, Dr. Bianchetta has the opportunity to teach Med-Peds and Internal Medicine residents in the outpatient setting. He also invites Med-Peds residents and fourth-year medical students to work with him in his busy primary care Med-Peds practice. Dr. Bianchetta regularly attends Medical Morning Report. He also spends a block as a teaching attending physician for an inpatient medicine team, and attends a weekly pediatric inpatient team teaching conference. Outside of his faculty responsibilities, Dr. Bianchetta is also active in other committees. He is a member of the School Health Committee of the Medical Society of Delaware. He is on the Performance Improvement Committee for the Medical Group of Christiana Care. Within his outpatient practice, he is Chair of their Redesign Team. He has recently been selected for the Clinical Leadership Track, one of five physicians who will help lead all of the primary care practices within the Medical Group of Christiana Care.
