The problem is that Dr Payson is only in the office, two days a week, so it’s hard to get in to see him . Also, he is slow to make changes when a medication isn’t working properly anymore. I know my condition well enough now (14 years), that I know when my medication is or doing the job and yet he is slow to act on it.

Dr. Payson is a very good diagnostician who has a wealth of knowledge and experience when it comes to meds and conditions. He errs on the side of incremental increase and initial baseline dose and usually knows if a med change is needed or not by what his patient tells him and utilizes those same precautionary parameters. Very knowledgeable period, nice interactive personality and calls you when necessary or returns you call when you need to talk to/with him. Michelle, his assistant, is extremely professional, consistently prompt returning phone calls, patient with questions, great manner and is always prompt in getting your medication refill needs met in conjunction with Dr. Payson. Very satisfied and good comfort level with Dr. Payson and Michelle.

His personal secretary is incredibly rude and discourteous. Not sure if she is just discriminating towards mental health patients, but her tone is very unprofessional and demeaning. She insinuates you are lying when you tell her Dr. Payson instructed you to do XYZ and is incredibly offensive. You would think someone who handles psychiatric patients on a daily basis would have a better bedside manner.

My wife went to this Dr. when she went to check out the person at the counter didn't know how to reschedule or take payments. My wife works night and wanted a day job so called to she if they were taking applications. She got a call back saying he could no longer be her Dr. due to a conflict of interest!!! Not no I cant be your Dr. and you work for me just no and I cant be your Dr. anymore. This guy needs a psychiatrist worse than my wife does. What an IDIOT.

Dr. Payson is an amazing doctor! I feel comfortable when i am in his office. Office staff is incredible and inviting!

Dr. Tony Payson was professional and yet personable as I described the reason for my visit. He was knowledgeable and took the time to listen to my concerns and address them accordingly. I have recommended Dr. Payson to my family and friends. I will return to see him as needs arise!
