Dr. Tonya Miles, PsyD

Dr. Miles has helped me work through issues that have troubled me for a lifetime. She is the first person I have felt safe with to discuss some of my past traumas. She has said confrontational things that I think I needed to hear from an objective third party. I can wholeheartedly recommend her, certainly for adults with issues that need a learned ear.

My child saw Dr. Miles in 2019. The sessions felt directionless and slow and we eventually discontinued because my child did not feel she was helpful. Then, we got a bill, out of the blue, THREE years after we last saw her, asking for me to send my credit card info via regular email to pay the balance. Ummm… No. After making a fuss, I was finally sent a link to a secure portal to pay. If you are this disorganized in your business practices, how can I trust you with my child?

I went to her to get tested for some mental health conditions. After our first secession she said she was going to email me some surveys and never did, I had to reach out and ask her myself. Eventually she sent them over and I set up another appointment with her. Again, she said she would need to send me more surveys via email and they never came. I even checked my spam folder. I reached out again to ask for them and she never responded or resent them. She did not seem to want to help me and I did not feel comfortable in the secessions I did have with her.

I saw Dr. Miles a few years ago for support with a new pregnancy and family issues. She, at first seemed OK, but as I had more sessions, I found her to be extremely judgemental and made comments that still haunt me to this day. I'm not sure she should be practicing therapy, or perhaps she has some of her own triggers that need to be re-evaluated before seeing clients. I would NOT recommend this provider. Also, if you have seen her, and also feel that you have been judged or received comments/treatment that was unhelpful be aware you are not alone. I did make a follow up appointment with her to discuss my issues, but she was mainly deflective and unapologetic. I mainly forgot about her, but from time to time can't believe some of the comments she made to me.

She speaks in absolutes, criticizes happy marriages, pits people against each other, and takes sides. She is completely unprofessional and more damaging than helpful. I cannot recommend her services at all.

Unprofessional and rude. She let our family session get completely out of control and was very clearly not neutral. She blatantly took sides. Everyone left feeling worse with no path to resolution. Our family is in a much worse place after visiting her. I fear that some of our family members that took part in the sessions with her are traumatized. I can't recommend her to anyone.

I would highly recommend this doctor. She's kind, caring, and very knowledgeable of the many topics you may seek help for. If you want a highly qualified doctor to help you get through a rough patch or any issue you may be seeking help for, she comes highly recommended.
