Dr. Travis Andrew Hunt, MD

Dr. Travis Hunt is one of the most dismissive and impersonal doctors I have ever encountered. He spends barely a minute in the room, doesn’t listen to concerns, and provides no real answers or solutions. Instead of exploring conservative treatments, he immediately pushes surgery as the only option. Any questions you ask are brushed off, and he shows little to no regard for you as a person. Beyond that, he seems more interested in referring patients to his associate in pain management rather than truly helping them find the best path to recovery. There is no coordination between Dr. Hunt and BGO physical therapy, so any progress—or lack thereof—goes completely ignored. His approach feels rushed, impersonal, and profit-driven rather than patient-centric. If you’re looking for a doctor who actually listens, considers all available treatments, and values patient care, I strongly recommend going elsewhere. Dr. Hunt and Bluegrass Ortho are resounding examples of the failed US healthcare… system, where the focus is on transactions and maximizing profit instead of holistic medicine. I implore you to not make the same mistake as me in seeking care from Dr. Hunt and to avoid the sorry excuse for a healthcare practice known as Bluegrass Orthopedics.

Very poor doctor I went in to see Dr Hunt for my back. I was in Severe pain my left shoulder was swelled up 10 times in size with 2 nots on my lower back. I have scoliosis of the spine. He acted like he was scared to be in the same room with me. Always had another Dr in there with him. Wouldn’t even hardy look at my back. Would not give me anything for pain not even a Ibuprofen. I have no drug history at all. Tells me there’s nothing he can do his hands was tad. I went to Louisville to Norton’s and was helped right away. Hands down Dr. Hunt is the worst doctor I’ve ever been to in my life. I would not wish my own enemy to go to him. Stay away!!!!

Spent less than 5 minutes with me to diagnose me with neck issues and wanted to refer me to pain management! WTH! Which in the end, the issue was not my neck but my shoulder, which I had told him and he dismissed it.

Dr. Hunt is amazing. He was the 1 doctor after 3 others that found the problem in my shoulder. I can’t thank him enough. Septic arthritis is so painful and dangerous. Thank you for his well trained team for all that you did for me.

I wasn’t happy with my visits at Dr. Hunts office at all. I had x-rays taken of my back and pelvic. I later was told I needed to get MRIs also. $800 later, I was seeing Dr. Hunt who talk to me about the results for about three or four minutes. When you’re out that much money you want as much information and time from your doctor as he can allow. His personality was very short and cold. Needless to say I won’t be returning

When he found out my husband was a work injury and we had an attorney he was out of the room in less than 10 minutes. Never examed him, just said he couldn't help him. Referred him to pain specialist for injections. He's for workmans comp all the way.

I would not recommend Dr. Hunt to anyone. In and out of room 5 minutes flat. We provided test results but he didn't take the time to examine or talk to me. Referred me to see a pain specialist after he learned this was a on the job back injury. Office staff rude as well.

Dr. Hunt is excellent in all areas of his profession. He did hip replacement surgery on me and I did great. Getting ready for a back surgery and I wouldn’t want anyone else but Dr. Hunt to do it. Dr. Hunt did an excellent job on my hip replacement. Each checkup and x-rays show that everything is good and I experience no pain. I am exceedingly happy with the success of my hip replacement and Dr. Hunt's care. I would definitely recommend and have recommended him to others for orthopedic issues.
