We were referred to Children's Hospital when my 15 month old daughter was diagnosed with DDH. Children's Hospital made our appt with Dr. Matheney 2 days later. We did have to wait over an hour for the appt but that was probably due to the last minute booking.Dr. Matheney spoke to us in terms we could understand. Most DDH cases are found at birth but since my daughter was not diagnosed until 15 months old, she had a more complicated condition. We received our OR date appx 1 month later. The surgery was long but we received constant updates on progress and were very pleased with the knowledge and experience Dr. Matheny was able to provided to her. Our daughter had open reduction surgery on her hip which included a plate and screws. I would definitely recommend Dr. Matheney for his knowledge, experience, and bedside manner.

Fantastic surgeon and I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of orthopedic surgery. He's very friendly, personable and caring as well, which helped to ease the distress about having to undergo a major surgical procedure. Incision was much smaller than expected, and healing process has been very smooth.
