Dr. Trevinder Ahluwalia, MD

Dr. Trevinder Ahluwalia was previously astute, experienced and had excellent skills in medication management. However, her office doesn't return phone calls. "Leave a message at the beep." When my beloved sister died, Dr. Ahluwalia failed to return my phone call after two weeks. I asked her to return my non-emergency phone call after 3-5 days to schedule an additional appointment with her and to review my antidepressant medication to possibly increase it during my tragic loss.. No one called back from her office, not even "Blondie" her receptionist. Complete failure by her office. My primary care physician is now covering my psychiatric medication until I get a new psychiatric referral.

Rushed 5 minute appointments. Doesn't listen, interrupts. More of a business than a practice. No bedside manner, very cold, spaced out appointments and frequent cancellations.

She doesn't care about any of my issues. She has no realistic view of the patient's needs. They do not answer their phones and the follow up time is way too far out. If I had a choice I would go elsewhere.

Dr. Ahluwalia is initially somewhat reserved. I believe that this approach lends to a thorough well as unbiased assessment of the patient. Her amiability very quickly is present. She is compassionate and takes the time needed to listen her patients issues, past failed and successful treatments and medications taken. She also allows her patient to voice what the person believes is the best course of action and then goes on to explain very clearly her reasons on why she agrees or disagrees with the patients analysis of the situation. In my particular case, she agreed that I was on the correct medication however since my recurrent and escalating episodes of terrifying anxiety and panic attacks were also a major contributing factor to my chronic and long term debilitating depression, additional medication would appear to be warranted. In addition to my anti-depressant, Dr. Ahluwalia prescribed and anti-anxiety medication which after raising the dosages twice at my request and explanation… of why I believed this was warranted, the improvement has been life changing. I am still not where I’d like to be however this doctor explained to me that if I still continued to suffer with the severity of my anxiety and panic attack, she would prescribe an additional medication or perhaps raise the dosage on the medication that she prescribed to me. I have an appointment with her tomorrow and I am looking forward to meeting and conversing with her and nice again as she is so open to listening and exchanging ideas with me whenever I see her during my appointments. I’ve been to see Dr. Ahluwalia just a few times but during those visits although she is somewhat reserved, she has expressed her sympathy through her wanting to help me as a patient. She is an excellent doctor and I recommend her highly to anyone needing professional care.

Why Cant she just listen and understand that the meds I've told her gave me allergic reactions are not meds that will help me? She keeps trying to give me the same thing over & over that has made me sick. Idk what it's gonna take to get the correct help I need..

After calling nearly 50 psychiatrists, I was elated to get an appoint for my husband who has bipolar and ADHD. He was in desperate need to have his meds redone as he was becoming both suicidal and having manic rages. Instead of welcoming his spouse for an intake to gather information she slammed the door in my face and then proceeded to further alienate my husband by stating, " I don't treat ADHD, Is that a problem for you" He storms out of the office and you can hear her saying to her sweet receptionist, Tina, " No FOLLOW UP FOR HIM' Who does this? She never found out anything about him since his last psychiatrist hadn't sent his record after 2 requests.
