Dr. Troy Trushit Desai, MD

Dr Desai is a wonderful Dr he was kind and patient.

Dr. Desai took the time to patiently explain all the tests that he ran and the results. He also listened to my questions and answered as well as he could. He is the third neurologist I have seen and he is the best.

I went to dr desai with positive results of MS. He explained everything very well for me to understand. He gave me options of treatments and answered all our questions. He spent the whole 40 mins in my room and we never waited past my Appointment time. He has great bedside manner and I highly recommend him.

Good office environment. Courteous and helpful staff. Dr. Desai is extremely professional and well organized. Listens to my concerns and answers my questions. Always does the standard exam for cranial nerves which I appreciate. I've been having what I describe in layman's terms chronic micro mini strokes and I find it important to not miss a checkup or an ECG or any other test. My critique would be the ease of getting an appointment. Dr Desai is NOT alone in this. My cardiologist, my granddaughter's epilepsy doctor, they all take two-three months to get an appointment. This is not a statement of Dr Desai but a statement on our nations healthcare. We need to fix that.

Dr. Desai is perhaps one of the worst neurologists I have seen. It seems he is all about the money and not about the patient. The waiting room time was always ridiculous, sitting there for half an hour or more, and then the visit with him was all of about 15 minutes and most of that time was him writing stuff in his notes. He would do the same 'tests' every single time, I.e. touching my face, trying to push my legs down, watching me walk (not sure how scientific those tests really are) and would ask the same questions. If I had questions or concerns, it seemed like he was irritated or bored with the fact that I was talking. I am my own advocate and I do my own research and look for answers. So I would suggest different scenarios and reasons and he would always dismiss them. Usually, he acted as though since he was the doctor, he knew best, but I know my own body better than anyone. He was quick to prescribe drugs to me that I had no use for such as anti depressants. I'm not depressed… and I have no reason to take anti depressants. I understand that along with MS comes a host of problems, including depression, but to prescribe something just out of habit or because someone else needed that medication is extremely unprofessional. Do not lump me in with other people or assume I have the same problems as other people. That's asenine. Anyway, I hated going to the hospital every time I needed to see him as well. Hospitals are full of sick people. It seems counter intuitive. Long story short, I was happy to find a new neurologist and happy I no longer have to drive all the way to Pittsburgh all the time.

Dr. Desai is very nice and reassurring. The entire staff associated with him makes your expierence pleasant even when you are learning you now have MS. I am now not so sad about my diagnosis.
