Dr. Troy Adam Lunceford, MD

Dr. Lunceford at Revere is just great. To start with, I was seen promptly for my appointment and all my questions were answered professionally by the staff. Dr. Lunceford took the time to ensure my concerns were addressed and I left after a brief visit with the outcome I was hoping for.

Dr Lunceford is a great doctor however I feel as though he doesn’t take the time to further inspect my health concerns and/or inquiry’s. I feel like I’m just a bother patient he needs to get in and out as fast as possible. I mean he gets paid ether way right? I have been very patient with him and I’ve been going to him for more then 2years. I am very disappointed. Today was kind of the last straw when I happened to look into some prescriptions I was running low on only to find out he had taken it apron himself to cancel them without informing me at all. These are medications I need in order to function mentally and physically! The medications were for my depression and anxiety. When I forget to take them I have major migraines and my body can not function the way it needs to on a day to day basis. I for one will not be going back to see him.

Diabetes doesn’t run in my family, it gallops. My father was type 1, and there are many type 1 and type 2s in my family. Growing up with so many diabetics around me I knew what the symptoms were. When I started to have symptoms I have a general physician so I went to county and asked for an A1c. It was in 14. So my husband, who is a dr recommended that I go to dr Lunceford. He didn’t do any lab work or send for my results. ?? just decided I must be a type 2 and put me 4metformin a day. I knew enough about diabetes that I went on a very low calorie and no carb diet. I tested 3 to 4 times daily. Within 3 months my A1c was 7. 3 months after that it was 6.7. I went back for my appointment. He came in angery. He asked if I ever even tested anymore but didn’t wait for an answer. He then immediately went into a tirade about my A1c finally being where it should be and that this is what controlled diabetes was supposed be be like. He yelled it at me. The problem with that statement… is that he was not the one controlling it. I was. He yelled until I was in tears, and my husband took me out of there. 1) I am the one who diagnosed my own diabetes 2) I feel like he labeled me with type 2. Which I believe to be wrong. His notes in my medical file has caused much abuse from other drs., 2 of which have told me to go home and die. One even hinted at suicide. I have never been back to his office and believe that I was treated very U.N. professionally. I do not recommend this dr. 3). he put me on such a high dose of metformin that my body has had a hard time regulating ever since. 4) he some how assumed that I had been an uncontrolled pig until I came into his office and that he was doing the controlling. Rather than realizing I was controlling with diet.
