This doctor consulted with me regarding my back pain and said that I was a good candidate for a spinal cord stimulator, when he had not reviewed the mri that showed that I should not have one installed. He then walked that back after realizing his mistake and suggested I have a laminectomy with fusion. He performed the surgery and three weeks after the procedure, he prescribed pain medication which I had a bad reaction to and could not take. When I reported this, their medical staff told me that they were not going to prescribe anything else for me. When I tried to schedule an appointment with him, they refused to see me before my scheduled 3 month visit; so he left me to deal with my pain on my own. The American Pain Society’s concept that pain control is a “basic right” of patients should be applied to a law that protects patients going through what I have had to deal with from this man.
