Summary
Tymwa Dixon, MD, has a passion for family medicine. As a child, he became intrigued with the idea of caring for people of all ages. He pursued his goal of becoming a physician throughout his academic career, starting at Caddo Magnet High School in Shreveport.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana Tech University and then his medical degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center-Shreveport School of Medicine. He completed a residency in family medicine at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. Dr. Dixon is board certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine.
Dr. Dixon has developed expertise in treating chronic diseases and acute disease states such as hypertension, diabetes and hyperlipidemia; and is fully qualified to care for all patients from children to the elderly.
Married and the father of three, Dr. Dixon and his family make their home in Shreveport.
