If you want a surgeon who knows what he is doing,cares about his patients he is the one. Whether or not he was most loved surgeon in the hospital hasn't anything to do with his Quality. Mt by-pass at RWJ University Hospital is going on seventeen years! No problems-Great recent stress test.

Dr Krause performed my triple Cardiac Bypass surgery at RWJUH in New Brunswick several years ago. I had to return there when experiencing renewed cardiac artery difficulty. At that time Dr Krause had moved on. The Cardiac prep nurse offered information that dr Krause had been “asked to leave RWJUH recently” as an inordinately high percentage of all his Bypass cases had to return for new procedures/surgeries. Apparently he was doing substandard work on what was considered to be an excessively high volume of cases. I would NOT recommend Dr Krause to anyone needing Cardiac surgery.

If you want to be involved, he will involve you in decisions as far as is rational, depending upon your knowledge. I've had two heart valve surgeries by him in two different hospitals over the years, and was home in three days both times. He is a perfectionist (you want that) and exceptional in his skill. Without question, I would go to him again, wherever he is practicing, if I were to need heart surgery again.

He is the best around, and saved my life 9 years ago and I am still here !
