Dr. Umar S Boston, MD

Dr. Boston diagnosed and corrected a heart condition of mine that had been ignored by local heart specialists for years. His professionalism and care made me confident that he could help me and I cannot say enough good things about him. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing his specialty.

I am here to clear some things up about the man who saved my life! I see comments calling him arrogant, rude or having no bedside manners. LOL!! Is anyone at all with a baby who has a congenital heart disease, on the edge of death, willing to judge a doctor or better yet CHOOSE not to seek the expertise of Dr Boston based off a ridiculous, and EXTREMELY untrue personality trait? I'm an adult. I've been in his care here at the hospital since he opened me up on Feb 20th and fixed a heart that baffled everyone who has seen it. AND was able to come up with a brand new plan because when he opened me up, it was different than what him and his team planned on. He fixed me!! He gave me MY LIFE back!! Technically he gave me MY LIFE!! I'm 38, I never knew what normal felt like because I was sick all my life and didn't know. I was born this way so atvmy best, I thought it was normal, but it wasn't!! I was living maybe about 50% quality of life. I never knew how sick I was until Dr Boston… introduced me to NORMAL!! So, all of you who stand there and judge this man because maybe he didn't stand around and shoot the sh** for 2 hours? Or maybe it was because he wanted you to listen to what he is telling you prior to drifting off into questions? The man isn't arrogant, he isn't rude, he is a professional who has the ability save lives!! So when your standing there with Dr Boston, close your mouth, let him speak first and foremost. Don't drift off into 20 questions, let him speak and explain what he knows and what needs to happen. He will give a chance to ask questions, at the end. This was he isn't repeating himself and the meeting/appointment is a very informative and effective meeting. Dr Boston is a brilliant man! His team as well! I HIGHLY recommend him to anyone and everyone!! If ur an adult with congenital heart disease and been looked at like ur crazy, there really is hope with Dr Boston. For those suffering the way I did, know that I pray for you every night. And I will continue to pray everyday! Even tho I don't have the Cor triatriatum defect as we thought, those who have it, we have a group on FB, just look for us or search for me. Your not alone and there are doctors who can fix it. We as a group reach out to bring awareness to adult congenital heart disease, primarily the extreme rare cases so that you don't have to go through it alone. And I will continue to spread the good word of the man who gave me my life, Dr Umar Boston. If u see this, thank you for doing what you do and being exactly who you are. The complaint says it all: unethical, unprofessional and not honest. Nice to see he got caught in his bad behavior. He did not take good care of my grandson and had attitude. Tried to buy him off by giving him an MP3 player at the time but we knew he had screwed up the surgery.

Umar Boston is nothing but an arrogant man with no talent, no morals and no integrity. How fitting that he came back to Memphis and immediately started illegally prescribing controlled substances. To say it is ok because it is a appetite depressant or because it wasn't for patients is a joke and LeBonheur should rethink their response. He is not trustworthy. He is one bad apple and no surgical skills and no knowledge. Butthead is a fitting name for this dud

Dr Boston saved my baby girl's life!! Any negative comments that are written on here are parents that are just bitter, because if he saved your child's life and your still negative about him...shame on you. He presented with knowledge and great bedside manners. He has performed open heart surgery on my daughter twice and I hope he does for the last surgery. He is a very humble, compassionate, and giving man. Even the article about the unethical behavior about drug prescription doesn't change my mind about him. Phentermine is a diet pill, the media hyped it up and shame on them to display this right after the ranking of the hospitals. Dr Boston will forever be in our hearts because of the gift that God blessed him with which is saving children's lives.

5-15-15 , Dr. Boston performed a double lung transplant surgery on me & I tell you, this man changed my life forever!!!! So thankful! ????

Arrogant does not begin to describe his attitude. His opinion is that he knows more than other doctors on the team; when your child's life is in his hands, that's not what you need, nor want to hear. No compassion. We did not hear from him between the time he told us our child was probably misdiagnosed, til the time she was prepped for surgery (He was wrong, she had in fact been properly diagnosed). If we had more time, we definitely would have shopped around. I'm glad he's no longer in Memphis,TN
