Dr. Umar Wadood, MD

I'm not a patient, however I do work in a doctors office and had to call their office to discuss giving them a mutual patient's records that THEY asked for. The request they sent was illegible so I called to verify it's validity. The receptionist was extremely rude, short and overall not nice at all. From one professional to another... VERY unprofessional. I hope they do not treat their patient's this way. I will not hesitate to give warning to any future patient's we may refer to them about this office.

Horrible experience. No eye contact. Not friendly, no greeting or shaking hands. Said the same things each visit, like he never read my file.Will not return.

I have seen Dr. Wadood for 5-ish years and in at least the last three have been frustrated nearly every appointment by an extended wait (generally 30-40 minutes) for which no explanation is given and no apologies are made. As other patients scheduled after me come in no one even bothers to inform them that there are patients with earlier appointments still waiting. Admittedly I am not in a very communicative mood by the time I meet with him so I know I have contributed to the fact that we have not developed a very good relationship, but overall I don't find him to be overly engaged or approachable. Additionally I - and my pharmacy - have had a difficult time with communication with him and/or the office staff regarding prescriptions. I can say that he is generally pleasant and that he has worked with me in the past to find medication solutions that I could afford when I didn't have insurance, which I appreciated.

I saw Dr. Wadood for about 2 years. He was always, always late, even when I had the first appointment of the day and could hear him talking to his office staff. I was overcharged for an entire year and getting a refund took over a month. One person would say I was owed X amount, another would say it was really Y amount, a third would say it was Z, when in reality, it was "A". I finally got a check for the incorrect amount and I've decided to forget it and find another doctor. I never once received a statement after asking every week for over a month.

Like many specialists, Dr. Wadood is very busy and it is sometimes difficult to schedule / reschedule appointments with him. However, he is a very good doctor. He takes the time to listen to my issues and answer any questions I have. He is very good at monitoring my medications, listening to my feedback, and making changes as needed. Dr. Wadood has been my pyschiatrist for 2+ years and we have developed a good relationship. He is friendly and professional. I feel comfortable being completely honest in our sessions and I trust his recommendations. I plan to continue seeing Dr. Wadood for a long time.

I've seen him for almost 7 years, and have really grown to like, and trust him. I have had similar expereinces to other reviewers where I did not feel cared about, being stuck in the confines of the 15 minute appointment, Dr not listening to me, etc. Not surprisingly, I was sufferring from a crippling depression when I met him and that proved quite a barrier to forming a relationship. I kept seeing him, and really grew to like him. He is late for appts sometimes, but he also practices at a local hospital on the Psych Unit, and as another person said, he does not look at his watch while he meets w/ you. I oftern go over my alotted time expressing my concerns, and taking time to give detailed examples of what is happening. He is open to questions and input on my end which I find very cool, because that gives me a chance to express concerns and make suggestions for new courses. I find the man very funny and enjoyable to be around once you get comfortable w/ him.

I've been seeing this doctor for about 7 years. I had been to several other doctors and many times had to end the visits due to lack of compassion. I just kept searching until I found the doctor I was looking for. In the 7 years I have seen him, he has only taken 1 phone call during our visit and he was clearly talking to a patient in dire straits. I was actually impressed that was genuinely worried about them. My wait time is around 20 minutes on average. One time i waited an hour but it was to see an urgent patient - again, I've been going to him for 7 years and to me, that's a good record. If there are any complaints directed at Wadood, I can honestly say it was something that was beyond his control. He's knowledgeable, professional, empathetic and when it's called for, he's got a sense of humor.

I came to Dr. Wadood on referral from my Therapist and I have had good experiences with him. He has extended my visits when I have been in particularly severe depression and poor functioning. I'm sure that makes him late for subsequent patients, but since I usually wait around 20 minutes past my appointment time, I feel like he is offering those "above and beyond" expectations to other patients as well. So I don't complain. I have never had a situation when he did not give me his full attention and empathy. He is very good with medications and medication interactions, which is important to me since I take so many different drugs. Between sessions, Dr Wadood has been helpful to me by scheduling urgent sessions, even when that means staying late in the office. Dr. Wadood accepts Medicare at a time when so many psychiatrists are no longer taking new Medicare patients. Although my first choice in Psychiatrists would be Dr. Sutherland (who does not accept Medicare), I am very pleased with… Dr. Wadood.

i just feel like I am not of any importance when I am there and Dr. phone rings and he answers it EVERY time. I feel that I am paying for his time so I should get his time, RIGHT? I can hardly believe it when he answers it in the middle of my thought. HMMM, is this accetable? I feel it is not. I could be wrong. The staff there,WELL it really is the BEST!....... So thank you for that.

This doctor is horrible at treating patients unless you have money - he delays in getting prescriptions refilled and now is refusing to refill the prescription at all over 80.00. My husband is severly depressed, doesn't eat, shower or function - and sleeps all of the time I am worried for his safety and I told his assistant this and she was unconcerned. THESE PEOPLE OBVIOUSLY DON'T HAVE A CLUE WHAT THE OATH TO DO NO HARM MEANS. I hope I can get my husband in somewhere before he hurts himself - but these people don't care.
