Dr. Umid Shah

Dr. Umid Shah is a dedicated and passionate Doctor of Physical Therapy with over five years of hands-on clinical experience and nearly a decade of prior work supporting physical therapists. His journey into physical therapy was born from a long-standing passion for health and the human body, paired with a deep-rooted desire to help others. Dr. Shah is committed to providing patient-centered care that addresses the individual as a whole, rather than just focusing on a diagnosis. His empathetic approach ensures each patient receives the care, comfort, and attention he himself would expect as a patient. Raised in the vibrant and culturally diverse borough of Brooklyn, NY, Dr. Shah’s background and life experiences have given him a strong ability to connect with people from all walks of life. During his undergraduate years at Hunter College, he underwent a personal transformation, overcoming childhood obesity and discovering a love for exercise and human performance. That same motivation …carried him through his Doctorate of Physical Therapy program at Mercy College in Westchester, NY, where he deepened his expertise in rehabilitation sciences and clinical care. Over the years, Dr. Shah has gained extensive experience working in a range of healthcare environments, including acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, and home health. He has successfully treated patients with a variety of conditions, including: Neurological disorders Post-neurological surgery rehabilitation Orthopedic joint replacements Generalized weakness and mobility issues In his free time, Dr. Shah enjoys weightlifting, exploring new restaurants, reading, and watching movies. He remains committed to making a positive impact in the lives of his patients and views every rehabilitation journey as a shared mission toward better health and recovery.
