Dr. Uttam Kumar Sinha, MD

His arrogance is only surpassed by his lack of compassion for his patients. He disagreed with all of the other doctors on why my wound would not heal after surgery and ignored all the signs of a really serious problem. In the end, it was a staph infection that caused all my pain and suffering for over a year! Thank god I found another competent doctor who listens and has solved my medical issues.

Dr. Sinha is very caring and dependable. He assisted me in getting my room in the hospital. He visited me daily and checked on my progress. He is extremely knowledgeable. He travels throughout the world giving lectures and seminars. He goes above and beyond to care for my well being. His staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I give him 5 stars.

He treated me with contempt. He never took my situation seriously. He had not read the surgical pathology report in our follow up appointment. He had not gotten the entire lesion, and the cells that he left were 'suspicious of invasive carcinoma'. I was forced to undergo a second surgery on my tongue, this time thankfully at UCLA where I did receive thorough, kind and competent medical care. For each and every medical question posed by me to Dr. Sinha he brushed aside and answered that I should simply consume more Turmeric. He also informed my family and I, that 'he would never get cancer because he is in harmony with his cells.'

Dr. Sinha has been a terrific doctor. I've had a few appointments and rarely waited more than 5 minutes--certainly never 10. He has a great attitude and sense of humor, and has put me at ease every step of the way. He is thorough and thoughtful, pursuing possibilities to be sure that no unnecessarily invasive and costly procedures are undertaken. He made himself aware of my social and professional situation, and worked with me on scheduling procedures around school and work. He encouraged me to be an active participant in my treatment and evaluation, as opposed to simply talking at me and telling me "this is how it's going to be." I couldn't ask for a better physician. I feel well cared for and respected. Add all of this to the fact that he is an expert in the field, with a long publication record and numerous accolades. Dr. Sinha's patients are in highly skilled, compassionate hands.

Absolutely the most skilled in his field...100% caring approach to the patient. Researches and practices the latest in care to achieve "quality of life" for cancer and other patients. He works as well as can be expected within the limitations of the USC Medical School system.

I cannot put into words how much I Respect and Love Dr. Sinha (USC) and his staff. From my surgery with Dr. Sinha to radiation (Dr. Rashtian/USC) and speech/swallow therapy (Melody/USC). I honestly don't know if the outcome of my diagnosis would have been so successful if it was not for Dr. Sinha and his team. I strongly recommend Dr. Sinha for anyone that is battling with throat cancer.

Absolutely the best in his field...world renown surgeon and researcher...performed surgery on me 5 years ago. Best of the best in skill and attitude towards quality of life after treatments for head and neck cancer.

It was a devastating day when we found out that our son had a tumor in his neck. We had several opinions and finally found Dr. Sinha. He was very involved in explaining what he thought it was, what our options would be if we waited or went ahead with surgery. He explained all of the complications that were possible from the surgery and how we go about treating any of those issues. So two months after meeting Dr. Sinha we went in for surgery to remove the neck tumor which had a high probability of affecting the vocal cord - which would require a second surgery to correct that. Dr. Sinha accommodated our every wish prior to surgery and after the surgery he personally came down to the waiting room to talk to us, show us an actual photo of the tumor (schwanomma) and got the amazing news that he was able to get the tumor off all the nerves with NO damage to any nerves or to the vocal cords. No second surgery required. Thank you Dr. Sinha. My son said to us that once he met you at the first… meeting - he walked away knowing you were the one.

Dr. Sinha is an awesome Doctor. I was treated by him. He is extremely caring toward his patients. He has the best bed side manner. I recommend him very strongly.

My step father has been trying to reach this Doctor for almost 2 weeks trying to get a diagnosis from him for a prescribed test for my mother. This is totally unprofessional and needless to say moving onto another Doctor. I am shocked that he is on staff at USC!
