Dr. Uzoma Chidiebere Okoli, MD

Been seeing him for a long time. Every visit I wait at least an hour-two for him just to come and talk to me for 2 minutes. He only ever talks about me smoking marijuana and makes stupid comments like “I just imagine a big cloud of smoke coming from your house” or “how do you not get the baby high”. He always made me feel like I’m a bad person for smoking weed and still does even after it’s been legalized. After years of seeing him he still doesn’t know what my job is and doesn’t seem to care to really get to know his patients and the root of their problems. He can be very ignorant and rude to you and if you tell him a medicine isn’t working he won’t give you a higher dose and basically ignores the needs of his patients. It seems to be only a money thing at this practice considering they are constantly over booked and he makes you come back every month($250 per visit) for a prescription you’ve been on for years to just send it in through his computer. There was also recently a problem… with a patient having tuberculosis, who I happened to have an appointment on the same day as them, I had to go out and get a Tb test and was honestly really scared. I called recently telling them I was sick and couldn’t come in and the receptionist insisted and basically refused to talk to the dr about sending in a prescription until I got better. I was surprised she wanted me to come in considering they just had all this trouble with the Tb patient and the health department is currently doing an investigation. I wouldn’t waste my time, go see a dr who actually cares to listen and asks real questions about how you’re doing and has knowledge about other drugs like marijuana, instead of someone who just writes your prescription and leaves the room.

PLEASE READ BEFORE SEEING THIS DOCTOR because you might just be wasting your time CONS 1. He doesn't care about your opinion. If you feel as if your medication isn't working and that maybe a higher dosage would work then good luck getting him to chang that for you. It's his way or the high way. 2. Please protect your private information. This doctor is extremely nosey and acts like he's more concerned about your personal life and affairs than your well being.

Very mean , only see patients for 2 mnts and If you try to speak for yourself he threatens to keep you in the mental hospital for longer he is a very bad doctor, mentality broke me as a patient I came out of the hospital in a worse condition because of him . I begged him to let me go home he refused to discharge me even when I knew I was feeling better . He did this to all his patients. Don’t trust this doctor stay away from lake Behavioral hospital in Wauakegan or you will be deprived of your freedom, your rights and family .

This doctor was my son's doctor at Lake Behavioral Hospital. Not only that this doctor not know what many of the street drugs were, he was unfamiliar with groups of medication, considering that my son is allergic to several medications. When I told the doctor that he was allergic to the following meds... He asked me what he was supposed to prescribe? Instead of suggesting some other medications. He also did not understand my son's mental illness. If you need help, seek someone else.

if u have a choice do yourself a fever find a different doctor. I waited in the room 37 min when he open the door and apologized for tiredness then he despaired for another 20 min. he won't listen what patient has to say just keeps talking about himself and his rules and preferences. actually he brought his stuff(3 front desk girls ) into the room where I was staying and criticized them for some office rules regarding appointments right in front of me. after 30 min with him collecting my info I wanted my money back he told me that he spent his time with me and he deserves to be paid 250$ he could care less that he waisted 1 hour of my time. stay away from this doctor. I chose him because of location and ignored that his performance was rated only 3 stars in general review by other patients. I am a nurse I have been around many doctors in my life I will give him 1 star just for this nightmare visit.

Horrible. I get to his office on time, and it takes an hour of waiting just to actually see the doctor. Then, something came up and the 3rd visit we had to cancel and unfortunately, I ran out of my meds, and because I didn't go to that ONE appointment, he refused to answer CVS's requests to fill my perscription. Very unprofessional. Would not recommend at all!

Very rude does not follow up or return calls. Makes you feel bad for your condition. Spends 5 min talkin g and leave

Listens well, excellent with appropriate meds, considers side effects, very patient manner, highly recommended

He's all about the almighty dollar.
