Worst doctor ever...I was on a gpl1 for weight loss and diabetes and it was working wonderfully..lost 70 lbs and a1c was in normal with medicine...went in for reg appt and she decided she didn't believe in maintenance dose of gpl1 and cut me off...and she wouldn't even discuss it with me..I have a family history of diabetes and heart disease..both my parents died from it and their early 70s...luckily I had already filled my last script at pharmacy before I went to her office but didn't have time to pick it up first..left her office and went to pick it up, only to find out she even had cancelled my refills at the pharmacy so she left me with NO diabetes medicine..what kind of doctor is she...she should have her licence taken away!!!!

Rude is an understatement when it comes to this doctor and her staff. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND APATHETIC.

Love that there’s not 20 office staff with no organization, serving multiple Drs. The lone doctor takes her time with you and listens. Staff is very organized and caring. I highly recommend this old school Dr.

I was referred to Dr. Elener from my best friend of 40 years as I recently relocated to Wilmington. Dr. Elener has handled a lot of odd medical issues I experienced. She listens, recommends, offers suggestions and comes up with a treatment plan that makes sense to me. I would definitely recommend her to someone looking for an internist.

Dr. Elener is very rude and does not like to give anything for colds, and says everything is just viral and keep taking over the counter medicine. Every time I have a cold, I always come in like she says. The last straw is when I came in, and she says it's just viral, if I still have a cough in 3 weeks, after I've already had it for over a week, to call her and she would call me something in. But when that 3 weeks was up, and I called, she wanted me to come into the office again. Why? It's the same thing. I've been going to her for over a year, and she should know by now that when I get my cough, it does not go away without medicine. I've had to switch to her after my doctor of over 12 years left his practice and I never had to go see him when I had a cough, he would always just call something in. My husband who has a compromised immune system due to battling through cancer is another of her patients. She said she could handle him before we started coming to her. Now, she refuses to… treat him when he is sick, saying anything he has is just viral. But he has to have medicine, before it turns into more. Because of her unwillingness to even help him, but made him come into her office anyway, this has caused him to be hospitalized on more than one occasion because his 'viral' cold has progressed quickly into something more. If the doctor had just prescribed him an antibiotic, this could have avoided another hospital visit and another chance of a life threat. This doctor only cares about getting people into the office, but does not want to properly diagnose and give what is actually needed for the patient to get better. However, the staff there are great. That is the only thing she has going for her, and the only reason my husband and I stayed as long as we did. But we will not be going back there again. On our search for another PCP.

I highly recommend Dr Valerie she listens and actually cares about her patients! I feel comfortable in her office between her and staff, all of my visits have been great, this is the first Dr I feel that honestly cares!
