Dr. Vanessa Lee, MD

I see Dr. Vanessa Lee at WC's Tribeca - Worth Street location. She is an outstanding doctor. Very smart, thorough, patient, genuinely caring and pleasant. I've been working with her, productively, for just over a year, and hope to continue to for years to come. I feel very well cared for and would recommend her to anyone for endocrine and metabolic issues.

I feel very unsatisfied with my visit and experience with Endocrinologist Dr. Vanessa Lee. She seemed consumed with dwelling on past diagnoses instead of concentrating on the issues that I am currently experiencing and have been dealing with most recently. She redundantly discussed my preferred birth control medication and dosage, which was absolutely not up for evaluation with her. [I was not there to change something that has enhanced my quality of life and proven beneficial to my health in many other ways.] Her level of professionalism regarding my situation was poor and she was highly misinformed regarding methods of treatment for weight issues. Most questions regarding medications went unanswered or with unsatisfactory responses read off a computer screen in medical terms, which I do not fully understand as a patient. Most importantly, instead of looking at me as an individual with my specific challenges and helping me to fix them, she seems to have a set standard of procedure… with her patients (a one size fits all mentality). As a doctor, she has the ability to provide me with options pertaining to my situation and she should allow me as a young woman with dignity to make my own choices and learn my own lessons. How patronizing of her to insist that I "don't want that" in reference to a type of treatment. It was a horrible experience and a waste of my time. It is so upsetting and insulting for someone to have a lackadaisical approach to weight loss issues as "just eat less". If I could do that and lose weight, then I would not be in your office! I was really looking forward to finally getting some answers and help, instead I left feeling very upset and frustrated. I have sought out another Endocrinologist.
