Dr. Verna R. Porter

My husband and I had an appointment with Dr Porter yesterday to discuss my memory issues that seem to be more pervasive at this time. I found Dr Porter to be very friendly, engaging and supportive. She asked me many questions about my memory issues, my background and answered my concerns. She had compassion for my concerns and answered my questions thoroughly. I feel I am in good hands and trust her judgment about my evolving condition . In addition, her office staff was quite helpful as well.

If her medical ability is reflected in how her office is run she shouldn’t have a license to treat lice.

I found Dr. Porter when I realized it was time to develop a neurological baseline for myself. She is definitely A-Team, as are the neurologists she refers her patients to. I came to Dr. Porter on the recommendation of a physician who sends all his neurological patients to her and of a friend who has been a dedicated patient of Dr. Porter’s for 20 years. Dr. Porter’s comfortable manner in the initial interview put my wife and me at ease. At the end of the interview, she suggested detailed actions to establish the baseline and gave me a list of neurological specialists to help her develop a comprehensive understanding of my neurological self. After screening and tests by the specialists, I returned for a review with Dr. Porter. She placed their contributions in perspective and balanced them with the results of her own tests. My wife and I had our questions answered and came away confident that we have great support for the future. I highly recommend Dr. Porter.

My husband went in for alzeihmers to be enrolled in a study she quickly caught wind of our good insurance and told us it’s a one hour visit after ten minutes of telling us how the body crumbles to death she as finished collected 400 from my Medicare and secondary I’ll notify the board on you dr porter for fraud

I took my husband to her and after a Montreal test which has to be done on a computer and performed by an assistant, my husband who is 77 years old did poorly because he is not used to computers! That woman (porter) diagnosed him with dementia without even talking to him ( that i recall) and proceeded to warn the DMV as soon as we left her office! She didn’t even wait for the results of the blood tests or mri and pet scan she ordered. When i asked her why she would do something like that without having all the results , her answer was “it’s my opinion”. She has no idea what it could do to somebody’s moral to have their drivers license rechecked or even suspended! Talk about kicking somebody when he is on the floor! She is a heartless and self absorbed person. Horrible experience that left us both depressed.

Verna Porter has poor people skills. She is unsympathetic to her patients. Her attitude is imperious. She is not really interested in helping you just getting you out the door.

Dr Porter has a very comforting bedside manner. She took the time to not only do a thorough examination, but also reduce my fears about crazy headaches. Very nice and friendly office staff.

I was referred to Dr. Porter and have now spent a month and a half trying schedule an appointment. I dealt Ronald, who showed little interest in the office having any new patients. Called up multiple times and got the same arrogant attitude. He indicated that the office was waiting on paperwork several times yet not once did I get a call indicating this was the case. Oh, and DO NOT SAY "Second Opinion" when calling unless you're ready for a verbal scolding. Clearly, this review is not complete as I have yet to see Dr. Porter. However, I am not impressed with the lack of professionalism displayed by their office. Perhaps others will have better luck. Feel Bette All.

Outstanding doctor. She has really helped me with several neurological problems. She is always on time and very professional and caring. I couldn't be more pleased with her care. I would recommend her to anyone!

Dr. Porter ordered a blood test and MRI but I explained I was unable to pay for expensive services right now because of my financial situation. So I didn't get the MRI but I asked how much the blood test would cost and the doctor said "not expensive, $200 at the most". The bill was $950. This is totally inaccurate and unprofessional considering I communicated I was financially unable to pay for expensive services.
