Dr. Vicki Steen

I really appreciate the time and attention Dr.Steen spent with me. She is very unlike other doctors I’ve been to and I always feel comfortable asking her about any concerns I might have. Each explanation is carefully detailed and questions are never just dismissed. I have never feel this confident in a doctor’s care. I switched doctors a few years ago, because scheduling was easier; this was a huge mistake. Dr.Steen is well worth the wait.

My annual check up with Dr. Steen during the COVID crisis was an appalling experience. Dr. Steen does not believe the virus is any worse than a cold or the flu and told me that mask wearing and social distancing was ridiculous. As I was wearing a mask, it was clear that in her opinion, I was ridiculous. Dr Steen wore no mask. None of her nurses or staff wore a mask. How many lives, and lives of unborn babies, is she willing to risk to make her political point? The fact is that EVERY international, national and state guideline for controlling the spread of COVID requires the wearing of masks and social distancing. Her shocking disregard for the health of her patients is nothing short of a violation of the hippocratic oath. In my 3 minute consultation (no exaggeration) she asked me nothing about the state of my health, said nothing about scheduling a colonoscopy that is due and forgot to even mention scheduling a mammogram. If you care about your health at all, find another OBGYN!

I went in for my yearly Pap smear and waited 3 hours which is usual for an OBGYN. I was told at the desk that they would send me a receipt through mail for my cancer policy. I had to call numerous times to get them to send it. I finally got it 3 weeks later. I asked if I owed anything and the girl at the desk told me it was 100% covered. Then 3 months later I got a bill and because I discussed a certain topic with Dr. Steen I got billed $90. I didn’t realize that a wellness doesn’t include discussing your health or issues with them. I didn’t sign anything and no one told me I would be billed for “discussing” a topic. And this has nothing to do with lab work; it is just discussing a topic- I checked with the office and my BCBS insurance. Lesson learned- don’t ask questions or discuss your problems. Make sure your insurance covers it before speaking.

Dr. Steen and her staff are efficient and thorough. I've been a patient for well over 10 years.

I ATTEMPTED ON BEHALF OF MY WIFE TO HAVE A PRESCRIPTION STOPPED, I WAS TOLD SOME 2 AND HALF MOS. LATER AND AFTER 3 REQUESTS THAT TO DISCONTINUE THE PRESCRIPTION WOULD BE EGREGIOUS ACTION ON MY PART. THIS IS THE WRITTEN RESPONSE I GOT, I THEN SENT 30 DAYS AGO A COPY OF MY WIFE'S POWER OF ATTORNEY, WHICH EMPOWERS ME TO MAKE HEALTH DECISIONS, I HAVE YET TO HEAR.FROM THE OFFICE......... THIS IS SIMPLY A CASE WHERE MEDICINE PRESCRIBED WAS NOT WORKING

Didn't like her at all. Rush in and rush out. No compassion for anything you are going through what so ever. Once was enough for me. Not at all what I woulc want for a GYN

If I could give them no stars at all, I would. I have never been to a gynecologist that's as irresponsible as this one. Dr. Vicki, I think, is a good doctor, but the rest of her staff lacks communication and doesn't care about their patient's well-being. Whenever I go to the clinic for a visit, I would always ask for the prices of the visit before confirming the appointment, but for some reason, they always send me invoices asking me to pay more when I've already paid upfront. When I call in to ask about why I'm receiving a bill for the service I already paid for, they would say, oh we did this service because your case was more difficult, and we were just trying to do everything we can to ensure your health is well. Well do they really care about my well being?! I think not! I ended receiving bills adding up to an extra $800-900 dollars for services I didn't request for. I'm paying for services the nurses ordered, just because they think I need it. They never consulted with me… that it's a separate service, and it will be an extra charge. They didn't even ask for my consent for the services performed. I've been to other gynecologist, doctors, and other medical clinics, and the staffs always ask for consent before they treat their patients or run tests on them. However, at Dr. Vicki's office , they said consent is not needed. Um..I thought one of the greatest things about America is because we have the right to consent? In addition to being billed for services I didn't ask for, when I called to speak to Nicki, the billing department, she blames me for not knowing that the service they performed isn't part of what I scheduled for. I mean, how should a patient, new to the clinic, know what service is included in what? I'm simply basing the services off of other gynecologists I've visited. If I knew all of the things she expected me to know, I'd be psychic and probably take over her job. She offered no sincere apology at all and blames the patient for not being competent enough asking if a service is extra when the whole appointment was about that one issue. Why should a patient be bothered by those kinds of unnecessary worries? Shouldn't the clinic hint at or inform their patients that this or that service won't be included in the amount that was paid for? I felt totally scammed and more mistreated than any clinic I've visited. Besides my own experience, everyone who has visited them apparently suffered their long wait time. Every time I go for my appointment (which has only been twice) I have to wait for at least an hour before I get to see the nurse. If anyone is considering them, make sure to go ahead and make no plans for at least half of the day. Also, make sure to ask if every little thing they do is a separate charge if you are self-paying. Otherwise do expect an unexpected invoice coming your way in about two weeks.

Love doctor steen. Billing woman is a big joke. She does not know what she is talking about and is to lazy to bill s secondary insurance. I changed from doctor steen because of her and the rude receptionist pretending to be a doctor when calling me. Very disappointed.

I had great experiences with my pregnancies and deliveries and appreciated her knowledge and expertise with regular visits. Her staff is friendly and takes time with me which I have appreciated through the years.
