Dr. Victor Wei-Nien Chiu, MD

Dr. Chiu did not want to see my disabled son because my son can't put and keep the mask on his face. This is a total disability discrimination!

I have had quite a bit of experience with surgeons, and I don't expect them to be warm and fuzzy -- or chatty. I DO expect them to have expertise and to be efficient. Dr. Chiu was both. He was willing to answer my questions and to give me direct advice. My advice -- be prepared before you see him.

I was favorably impressed. He proposed bilateral cataract removal and excision of a pterygium in my left eye. 3 separate procedures, with at least a month or so between each, I have not scheduled yet.

I strongly recommend that you the patient not waste your time and money seeing this doctor. Dr. Chiu is all about the money. Terrible bedside manners. Very arrogant!! He will rush through the appointment and is very unhelpful. He makes sure that he repeats his suggestion to you to see him in a year for your annual check-up. I will NEVER ever see him again and will dissuade all I know from seeing him. What a waste of my time and money!!

The staff at this office was well trained, they knew about my insurance coverage. I had a small wait but the office is clean and beautiful. The optical staff was very friendly and had a great choice of glasses. Dr. Chiu took the time to answer all of my questions. This was my first eye appt ever and the staff was great and kind. I walked out of the office with a smile on my face. I ordered glasses they billed my insurance and I couldn't imange a better experience. Thank you Dr. Chiu and staff!!

I find this practice convenient. I have called to express my appreciation for certain employees. But I keep running into the same issues with this office. I do not appreciate the bedside manner of Dr Chiu. His tone is condescending, making you not want to ask questions. I have had multiple issues trying yo coordinate laser surgery. Admittedly, some of these issues are on my end due to work. But if you don't know surgery dates, say you don't know. If you say you will call me back, call me back, and please make sure the receptionists know the proper people to contact so you aren't repeatedly transferred to the wrong person. At this point, they are used to my regular complaints. As a result, Dr Chiu calls me directly. Now I feel like they are sucking up to me when they can, worried they might lose my business. It's a little annoying, but frankly I'm not sure I want them sticking a laser in my eyes.

I'm sure he is an exceptional doctor. I just didn't like his demeanor. He should be more engaging and personable with his patients. I am not comfortable discussing options for laser surgery and treatment options with him. I will try switching to a different doctor in his practice
