Dr. Victoria Elikashvili, DDS

Dr. Elikashvlli was guilty of dental negligence. One form of dental negligence is to perform unnecessary dental work. First, she misdiagnosed a tooth. Then she did unnecessary work on it. I found out the truth from a much more experienced dentist who has an advanced degree in dentistry. He reviewed the original x-rays and said that the work had been unnecessary. The work was very expensive. I asked Dr. Elikashvili for a refund. She would not pay me and replied with a very argumentative email. Her arguments were not valid. I would never go to this dentist again. But she does have a clean and pleasant office environment. A former Dental Assistant also reviewed my x-rays and was kind enough to provide the following evaluation: “My opinion on these x-rays, as a former dental assistant with years of experience at an endodontics practice, is that the amount and location of the decay that appears on this X-ray on tooth #15 places the tooth at a high risk for a root canal treatment simply by… being there in the first place. The removal of and replacement with filling material increases the risk for a root canal treatment as this could disturb and irritate the tooth's pulp chamber, causing infection and necrosis of the nerves. Given your age and physical limitation I find the actions particularly negligent due to the difficulty you have leaving your apartment. If you required medication or treatment it's very callous or thoughtless to not have considered your pain or difficulty should there be an infection requiring more appointments, money, and travel. As we know, you did in fact develop an infection and had to have the tooth removed out of necessity rather than by your choice at that point.” Reviewed submitted by Susan Eno"
