Dr. Vijay Chandulal Oza, MD

I’ve had major problems with Oza Family Practice, above all their quest for money over service or over even the health of the patient; is why my family and I will no longer be using them. When the pandemic started, Oza Family Practice would not allow an office visit, even though I did not have any symptoms of COVID; I was told I would see the staff and doctor via an online video visit. The day of the appointment, I paid my visit fee, normal as going into the office, no discount, and then their video conference setup did not work. The visit consisted of talking to the doctor for less than a minute to get my refills. No mention of credit or discount for the incomplete tele-visit! I had to call back the next day since all my refills were NOT called in! My wife became ill and on the first visit anti-biotics were prescribed, as normal. However, the prescription did not clear the infection. On a Thursday I called the doctor and told them she would need another dose. No word all day. … Friday, I called again, the nurse informed me that the doctor would not prescribe another dose without seeing her, first available visit was Monday. Monday morning after paying our office visit fee (again), it took two minutes before the doctor informed me to rush my wife to the emergency room – her blood pressure dropped dangerously low. Another payment made with no mention of credit since they did not treat her. Furthermore, it turned out the nurse told me wrong, the anti-biotics had been sent into the pharmacy and sat at their all weekend while my wife got worse. Now we have a hospital bill. The original anti-biotic prescription had sent to the incorrect pharmacy. Summary of problems with Oza Family Practice: • Full payment for visits where medical services were not provided, and credit was not offered. • All refills not sent to the pharmacy after a visit or sent to the incorrect pharmacy. • Expiration of refills set early, multiple refills expired before I had the ability or need to fill them. • Miscommunication from office staff and having to wait 25 rings to leave a message.

Not a good experience. First the receptionist Mayara, calls out my prescriptions across the lobby for everyone to hear. "Are you taking "___" "whats it for?". Unprofessional Then while trying to confirm my insurance, she hangs up on them to take another call. Was there about 30 minutes until I finally had to walk out. She said she was waiting for my insurance to call them back. Never heard back from her. Waste of time, and bad experience.

Sketchy. Should have left after he entered the room. Don't waste your money or your time.

I saw Dr. Vijay Oza at one of the urgent care facility in Houston, TX when I needed to see a doctor right away as my primary care doctor's schedule was full. I had around 1 cm long cut on my finger while working in the kitchen. I was seen in less than five minutes after a quick paper work in the facility. Dr. Oza did a quick relevant physical and sutured my wound with ease. I was impressed at his skills and bed side manners. He also took a good amount of time to explain everything to me. I was very happy with his services and I would definitely recommend him to anyone without reservation.
