Dr. Vijaya Lakshmi Kankanala, MD

Dr. Kankanala saved my life in 2022. At the time, she was PCP. I came to her as a forty year old female with breast pain. She immediately ordered a diagnostic mammogram AND ultrasound. The mammogram was normal, but the ultrasound showed a small malignant mass. I am happy to say I am in remission from triple positive breast cancer. Thank you for taking my somewhat vague symptoms seriously, Dr. Kankanala. You will always hold a special place in my heart.

Vijaya Lakshmi Kankanala, MD/MBBS was my internist while she practiced medicine in New Mexico. I am a 75-year-old woman and have lived in a number of states in the US and several foreign countries. When a treatment or medication I needed was not affordable, Dr. Kankanala worked with me to find… pharmaceutical companies’ Patient Assistance Programs, coupons, prescription samples, substitutes, or other work-arounds so that I could get the care I needed as quickly as possible. Dr. Vijaya Lakshmi Kankanala is truly the finest internist I have ever met. When she left New Mexico to continue her training in oncology in Iowa I cried.
