No bad experience Everything good

I had bilateral inguinal hernia repair. An initial visit with my primary care physician was disappointing in that he could not find any problem. Dr. Deka knew what was going on in about 1 minute and confirmed the problem. Surgery was a couple weeks later and the whole experience was far easier and less painful than I expected. I saw Dr Deka a couple weeks after surgery, he answered all my questions and was very no-nosense which I appreciate. Today, about 3 weeks post surgery, although there is some minimal swelling remaining I feel better than I did before surgery and am 100%, although still restricted from heavier weight lifting. It was a great experience (as surgeries go) and I highly recommend Dr. Deka.

I had robotic surgery for my inguinal hernia about a month ago. The procedure was performed by Dr. Deka at HonorHealth Scottsdale Shea Medical Center. I was impressed with Dr. Deka's wonderful staff, thoughtful diagnosis and treatment plan. He did not push me to do the surgery immediately but when the hernia started to bother me, we scheduled the procedure. He offered three choices for the procedure; open, laparoscopic and robotic. With his guidance, I chose robotic at Shea. First, I have to say, the experience at the hospital was excellent from admitting through recovery. The staff were excellent and also made my wife feel very comfortable waiting for me. Dr. Deka and the anesthesiologists did a great job and I went home shortly after the procedure. I only took ONE pain pill the night of the procedure and just Advil for a few days (not sure if I really needed it). I did develop a hematoma at one of the surgical sites but it seems to be going away. I would definitely… recommend Dr. Deka and his excellent team for hernia repair.

Dr Deka is wonderful. When I walked in to his office for the first time I was greeted by his receptionist. She was nice and professional. All his staff is very nice. When the doctor saw me he took time to fully explain to me my condition and explained to me what he was going to do. When my surgery date arrived he was very thorough and had a good beside manner very compassionate. I would definitely recommend this surgeon to anyone.
