Dr. Vikram Kapur

It seems that time and patience is not as important as the money , they expect you to get in and out and tell them in 10 min what's wrong, that's to short of a time to remember all that we need to explain why we are there. Otherwise Dr's are fine.

staff stinks - doc rocks!

Dr. Kapur is a doctor that actually listens to his patients. I went to several doctors before seeing him who were judgemental and narrow minded. He has helped me conquer medical issues that other doctors were afraid of.

DR KAPUR. ..Has treated all my family.Hes very kind..cares about his patients. He has never been in a hurry like other Dr's. And the staff is great especially one Cruz..she is the sweetestâ?¡they both great you with a huge smile : )

In late 2006 after being treated for kidney cancer (removed) and pulmonary embolism (post operative) I was referred to Dr. Kapur for follow up treatment. My recovery from these conditions was slow and extensive. Since then I have experienced other medical issues (pancreatitus, incapacitating panic attacks, diabetes) and been diagnosed and successfully treated by him or referred to the proper provider. When needing medical care I can always be seen in his office by him or one of his associates within a reasonable amount of time, within 24 hours. If I happen to be hospitalized(Banner Estrella Hospital) I know that I will be seen by him or an associate within 24 hours because one of them is at the hospital every day. That is a comforting feeling when you are hospitalized at the spur of the moment. My two adult sons are also under his care which is comforting to me and my family. I wish everybody could have the positive and trusting relationship with their provider.

THIS DOCTOR IS ABSOLUTELY THE WORST DOCTOR I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED. HE IS COMPLETELY RUDE AND ARROGANT LACKING ANY REGARD FOR THE PATIENT'S (THE ONE HE IS MAKING HIS MONEY FROM) POSITION. I WOULDNT RECOMEND HIM TO MY ENEMY! HE IS IMPOTANT AND I AM CURIOUS HOW HE EVEN GOT LICENCED.

Dr. Kapur is one of the better and caring Internalist in Arizona. This doctor will listen, not rush you out of his office and care a great deal in following up with you on issue regarding health. In my case, he got to know me and my illness and supported,ask lots of questions and his skills at using medications and what to give me was not trying to over medicate me.

Medical staff needs training in proper procedure of taking blood pressure. The first tenet of an accurate blood pressure is it should be taken after five minutes of resting comfortably and quietly while seated in a comfortable-backed chair, with feet on floor with un-crossed legs or ankles. Crossed legs, talking and cold; all raise pressure, and should be avoided. There are other important quality assurances. The arm should be relaxed and supported so that the cuff is at the same level as the heart. The usual size cuff is accurate for arms up to about 11 inches in circumference. If the cuff is too small, the pressure will be overestimated, so larger cuffs for larger arms will make more comfortable patients and more accurate readings. It is imperative that proper size cuff be used. I actually witnessed one of the medical staff members put too small a cuff on a patient. This patient had very large arms; the cuff was so tight that it was barely held by the Velcro. Instead of switching… the cuff this medical person held the cuff on by pressing her hand firmly against the patients arm and over the Velcro part of the cuff. All the while the patients arm hung down at the side of the body. The patient complained the cuff was hurting and was too small. The medical staff member just ignored the patient, and then made a flippant comment of I know, I know. I had the chance to speak with patient after our appointments and the patient said the arm still was hurting, and that the hand had become numb while the blood pressure was being done. I asked if a complaint was made to the doctor, but the patient said that the doctor didnt seem to care. This patient was thinking of finding another doctor, because of being dissatisfied with the whole appointment. It made me feel very badly for Dr. Kapur. I hope that Dr. Kapur will make sure that the medical staff receives proper training and he will go back to his past manner of deep concern, caring, kindness and taking his time with his patients. This is what makes a doctor stand out from the rest.

Since your office expanded the follow up care and level of care has declined. While all of the doctors are good, the office staff has become nearly impossible to deal with. They say they are calling in prescriptions and unless I call back 2-3 times it doesn't get done.Getting an appointment has become difficult, instead if it is important, I am told I should go to the hospital or see the PA. who while seems good, is not you and rushes as well as does not know history. You have sacrificed health care for money, and efficiency for poor patient services with this new office. I ask to have you call and never get a call back, so assume you are not getting the messages.
