Dr. Vikram Mehra, MD

I am 73 years old and have been seeing him and his PA for 3 years. They cut my proscription for Xanax and did not tell me. The reduced quantity was in the same size bottle and I did not know the quantity was reduced until I tried to refill it and the pharmaceutics said it was too soon. I called the office and they said I should have read the bottle and refused to provide any additional. Cut me off cold turkey for 10 days after being on Xanax for over 30 years. I did go to my primary care physician, he took one look at me and wrote a proscription for 10 days of Xanax. Dr Mehra then adjusted my appointment date to coincide with the date I run out of most of the medications, and when I complained about his treatment, he reduced quantities on other medication and wrote a letter to cancel me as a patient. My new doctor has reduced the dosage of Xanax, but added a drug for withdrawal semitones plus other adjustment in medication. At first I thought Dr. Mehra was trying to dump all… medicare patients, but now I believe he dose not know how to treat for reduction of this type of drug. He really got upset when we told him how another doctor covered the 10 days he thought I should go without Xanax. Bad doctor with an attitude problem. I could have had a hart attack.

Doc Mehra is a very competent professional. However, once you become a patient you will not see him anymore. You will see the PA or Nurse practitioner only. I have called and emailed the office for the last three days because I need help immediately. I was referred by a neurologist from the MD Anderson. Dr. Mehra's secretary and the office manager - Sandra have refused to schedule an appointment for me with him, which is preventing a cancer survivor and a mental illness patient from receiving proper treatment in a timely manner. Completely illegal and unethical.

If you want an office that focuses on quantity versus quality, you have found the perfect place! From the unprofessionalism of staff to the bedside manner of this practice, it's a complete waste of time. Don't waste your time on this unethical, joke of a place.

Love Dr. Mehra. Despise his new assistant, who couldn't care less about why you're there. Never want to see her again. Horrible. Have to find someone new if I have to see her again. Huge domestic violence problems. She only wants to know what Meds you want refilled-- no questions asked. Unprofessional and mean.

Extremely easy to talk to

Lied about my diagnosis, gave me an arsenal of addictive drugs that was not necessary. Dropped me as a patient when I needed him the most. I had to be admitted to the emergency room because of him overdosing me on prescriptions. He is nothing more than a glorified drug PUSHER!!!!

At one time Dr. Mehra was the most caring and helpful doctor. No longer. I am a long term patient and booked a visit with the doctor. Because I have not actually spoken to him in over two years I naively thought the appointment I booked was with him, the physician. When I arrived at the office I waited for over an hour and then was told that I could only see the PA. When I refused, and asked to see the actual doctor I was told that I would be "removed as a patient" . This is unacceptable behavior, especially for a physician that deals with psychiatric disorders! The PA is a worthless individual, has no idea what she is doing and forgot to prescribe half of my medications. After two years of just prescription refills and no face-to-face contact I would think Dr. Mehra could spare 15 minutes to see one of his long term patients. The office staff is beyond rude as well, unhelpful and lazy. Customer service is unheard of in this practice. I strongly suggest you seek… out another doctor because you will be much worse mentally by going to this physician and it is obvious he cares nothing about your well being.

The office staff are kind and helpful. Dr mehar takes time and answers all question's so l can understand. Dr Mehra has great bed side manner.

The office staff is rude and unhelpful. I would not recommend him as his staff is very unhelpful, short and rude. I like Dr. Mehra but unfortunately he has very little to do with your care. I had a prescription I needed refilled and they told the phamarcy that they would not refill without an appointment. When I called to make an appointment, they said I was no longer a patient so I could not get prescription refilled and they would let me know if he would let me be a patient again. They has been refilling my prescriptions this entire time and now I am not a patient. Very, Very rude especially for psychiatrists office.

Dr. Mehra seems like a good doctor at first. But the way his staff behaves says eons about him. His staff is the worst I've ever delt with. They are extremely rude and lazy. They never let you speak to the doctor, nor do they ever give him any messages. If you were'nt crazy before, you will be once you have to deal with them. The fact that he's lost alot of patients because of his staff (yet continues to employ them) just goes to show what an unempathizing doctor he really is.
