Dr. Vikrom Patrick Mahat, MD

About 40 years ago, Mahat diagnosed me as having Meniere's Disease-said that the "curve" of a hearing test was perfectly aligned with characteristics of Meniere's. And now, after 40 years of tinnitus, dizziness, and hearing loss, I learned this week from an ENT at UVA hospital that I do not have Meniere's and that I have never had Meniere's. I am damned mad about taking meds for decades that I haven't needed, and they have led to an acute lacunar infarct of the left basal ganglia. His arrogance and overconfidence destroyed any quality-of-life I once enjoyed a long time ago.

Dr. Mahat put tubes in my 12month old's ears and removed a benign fatty tumor from my parodid (spelling?) gland. My surgery was very complicated because the main facial nerve for my face runs through this gland. Dr. Mahat was the only one willing to operate and he did a spectacular job.
