Dr. Vincent Paul Thomas Alia, MD

I used to go to Dr. Alia do not anymore because they do not take my insurance. The office called me and left a message on my answering machine. Telling me that they do not take my insurance anymore and they are canceling my appointment. Very tacky. Last time I was there his MA was rude acted like she ran the office. Treated me like I was a dummy. Going somewhere else and I think I will be much happier.

I have been with Alia for about a year now. For the last visit, I went into the exam to look into receiving medication for my mental disorder. When I went in, he checked my vitals, but when he checked my heart by using a stethoscope he was very intrusive. Most doctors that I had received in the past because I am a female have either put the stethoscope under my shirt or have put it over my shirt. Instead of asking me if it was okay to lift my shirt, he lifted my shirt completely without a female nurse present. After that, I explained that I want to try a new medication for my mental disability. While I was explaining my reasons why, he appeared bored and appeared to be visibly tired with me. When I explained my symptoms, he then proceeded to make me feel that my symptoms were not valid. After this, he then explained that I could take a medication and 'see what happens'. I will not be going back to him and I'd advise for any woman who goes to him to request a nurse or go with a friend.

I have never been fond of going to doctors. I was going through some tough times and had anxiety problems. I was nervous about my first appt. The staff immediately made me feel comfortable. Dr. Alia is the most caring doctor I have known. He takes his time with you, listens, is caring, I have nothing but great things to say about him and his office staff. He has been my primary doc for over two years.
