Horrible!

He was very very concerned and wonderful and understanding and took time with my son and myself and grandmother talking too..

My son was born with a rare defect called a laryngeal web, which closed off 75% of his airway, and required immediate intubation for him to breathe. Dr. Callanan did surgery on him the day after birth to correct the problem, even though neither he nor any of his colleagues had ever seen anything like it. 5 months later, my son is a healthy, bouncy baby boy, and his larynx has healed well! He even has a lovely and loud voice. Throughout the ordeal, Dr. Callanan was realistic about the odds of setbacks like frozen vocal cords and the possibility of a necessary tracheotomy, but fortunately we didn't have to worry about that...his surgery technique worked the way it was supposed to! He has an excellent bedside manner, and we are forever grateful to him.

This doctor was completely unyielding when it came to treating my 2 yr old daughter. It was his way and his way only when it came to her antibiotic treatment course, could not go home had to be in the hospital for three days for a bacterial infection with no fever. At one point threatened my wife with not following his "orders" when the nurses could not find a vein and she wanted oral antibiotics instead. Imagine a doctor holding a patient hostage over what insurance may pay for if his "orders" are not followed!They must teach that in Irish universities.
