Dr. Vincent N Mccolm, MD

My Dad has been using Dr McColm for years and really likes him when he visits him. My complaint is against the way the office is ran. It took over two months to get a referral completed and faxed over to medical supply companies to get a hospital bed for my Dad. There were two separate companies and I was told by the office they faxed multiple times but neither office received them. Multiple calls and hours of time and we ended up having a representative go directly to the office to get the referral faxed. At the time, it was a he said/she said scenario and we were told by the the medical supply company it was the dr office's issue for not sending over and the doctors office was saying it was both medical supply companies issues. Fast forward to getting prescription faxed over and the pharmacy was not receiving anything from the doctors office. Now, we are in the same situation. My 80 year old father is needing to have teeth pulled and has been in pain for three weeks now because we… have to get a one page document giving the ok to proceed faxed over to them again. Low and behold, the dentist office has faxed over twice and magically as of this morning, the office has not received the fax. I have mentioned to the office before that if they are actually faxing or waiting on fax, they are obviously having issues with the fax and need to get resolved. This is now the fourth place that is stating they are sending faxes to the office yet office keeps saying they are not getting. Each time we call the office, we have to go through USMD first and they would send message to office and we would never get a call back. Again, the office was stating they were not receiving any messages and then stated USMD was a horrible service and was not getting the information to them. So yet again, blame was placed on someone else. I called the office direct and always speak with Carla. At one point, she told me she was the only one in office and she is one person and can only do her best and that she was overworked and underpaid. I have now spoken with Carla twice regarding this issue and both times I asked her to call me back to let me know when the form was faxed so I can get my Dad into the office for his procedure. Yet again, never received call back and contacted the dentist office and no form has been received. Dealing with this office is an absolute nightmare. I expressed my frustration with Carla and she was non receptive and non empathetic. I even mentioned to her that I can not imagine an elderly person having to deal with this office and not having someone advocate for them and imagine that they just give up and suffer in the situation they are in because my Dad has given up. This level of service is not acceptable and needs to be addressed. I work full time and have enough to do without having to follow up to make sure others have done their job. Looks like I will now have to drive to the office again to get this formed filled out after I am able to schedule a day off from work.

Dr. McColm by far is the best family practice doctor in the area! He is so passionate about what he does. He goes above and beyond in each visit. He always spends a good amount of time with his patients to fully understand you. He is very caring, you can feel it when he talks to you. I highly recommend him and I’m sure he’s a great pedicatrician as well!

Over the past 10+ years, Dr. McColm has been like family - a trusted health advisor and excellent caregiver. He’s thorough and thoughtful about his approach to treatment. We’ve had a couple referrals from him in the past, all strong professionals as well. I highly recommend Dr. McColm, his staff, and his overall practice.

Love, love, love Dr McColm. He is so easy to talk to and really take the time to get to know you. He is a wonderful person and a great doctor.

Our family are very lucky to have Dr. McColm for our pediatrician and family doctor . He is always go above and beyond to take care all of us! All I can say is thanks to him and he is definitely recommend.

Dr. McColm cares well for his patients, he remembers details about his patients well. We are currently consulting him for our 3 weeks old kid and we are really amazed at his patience and care.

Dr. McColm is able to take a list of seemingly random symptoms and see the bigger picture of how they are all related. He targets the source and doesn't waste time on treating the symptoms. He either has a photographic memory or he is magic (or he is extremely diligent about reading the patient history, reason for visit, and all possible diagnoses/treatments before walking into the room). He schedules enough time to actually talk to the patient to get to the root of the problem. I am more than confident in his ability to treat me as an adult as well as my children. He goes above and beyond what any doctor I've ever been to can deliver.When an issue that is out of his realm of expertise comes up, he provides a list of the most skilled physicians as referrals. He personally called to check on my son after an appointment.We are so fortunate to have Dr McColm in our area!!

My son has been seeing Dr. McColm for about 6 or 7 months now, and he is an extremely caring and knowledgeable pediatrician. While the wait sometimes in the front waiting room is a little longer than I'd hope or expect, it's well worth it just to be able to see Dr. McColm. He goes above and beyond by personally returning phone calls to discuss lab results, diagnosis and just to follow up to see how my son is feeling after a sick visit. He explains his diagnosis and treatment plans so that not only I completely understand and feel comfortable, but my 7 year old son does too. Even though he's very busy, he takes time to make sure your questions and concerns are all answered before leaving his office. Dr. McColm is wonderful and I'm so glad that I found him!!

We had to use Dr. Mccolm as an alternate once when our regular peditrician was on maternity leave and we loved him so much we switched our daughter to him immediately (the other Dr. was great too but our 2 yr old really responded to him). Within a year I had moved our other 3 family members to him as well. He is so helpful and genuine that you can tell his advice is thought out and in the best interest of the patient. He also calls us personally with test results with is a bonus.

Dr. McColm is a very good listener. He takes plenty of time with us and he is patient with our child. We highly recommend him!
