I had a yeast infection and felt uncomfortable for weeks. Only when I saw a different doctor did I receive a prescription that helped. Dr. Berghella didn't treat me like a person who mattered and seemed more concerned with the hospital statistics. He insisted on inducing labor again and again (took three tries over 2 days) even when it didn't work. Then refused to do a c-section when I asked for it. The result was I was exhausted even before starting labor. Only after 12 hours of labor he offered the option of a c-section, and by that time I didn't want it. Eventually, a resident was able to deliver my baby with forceps. She was the only competent provider on the ward. I received minimal care after the delivery, which did not address the continual bleeding that occurred, A doctor at another hospital figured out what was wrong. I recommend not going to Jefferson for maternal care.
