Dr. Virany Margaret Kreng, MD

I saw her for one visit. She listened well, but I found that she was dismissive & minimized symptoms as well as my family medical history that indicated red flags requiring specific medical testing.  Of course, true to form of the doctors who aren't operating with the highest hippocratic oath, she mentioned my symptoms were potentially anxiety. She denied a test that I requested, but referred me for another basic test & a different specialist that would not have addressed this issue (EENT) then she  released me when the basic test was normal. Thankfully, my actual doctor conducted the follow-up test based on the same symptoms that I advised Dr Kreng of & she detected multiple, serious  cardiac issues that need to be addressed.  When I self-reffered myself to the specialist that Dr. Kreng denied, the specialist determined I definitely needed eval based on family history asap, although Dr. Kreng dismissed it. I would not refer anyone to see this Dr. because unless the condition is… very simple and basically routine, the patient care is almost reductive, if not dangerous. My regular physician was not happy with her care either. Not only does her effect appear detached, but my experience is she is not a great diagnostician & ultimately functions  as the gatekeeper for me and someone else I personally know who was a former patient who ultimately stopped seeing her.

Dr. Kreng was my PCP for 7 years and now that I've moved out of Southern California I realize how much of a gem she really is. She NEVER made me feel stupid for asking questions and always explained her treatment plan thoroughly and precisely. I was never rushed out of her office or made to feel like my concerns did not matter. I wish more Dr.'s where like her, she was never cold or distant in any way. She helped get to the bottom of many health issues I had over the years and I am forever grateful. She truly cares for the well being of her patients and I still recommend friends and family to her.

Dr. Kreng is very accessible and listens to the patient with an open mind. She gives the patients options for treatment and explains the positives and negatives of each, She does not hesitate to recommend a specialist when the patient requires one. She is one of the best doctors I have had in my 74 years.

This doctor's visit was so upsetting and a waste of my co-pay. She is so cold, doesn't listen to anything you have to say, talks over you and tells you everything is okay. She talks so much and has a wealth of knowledge but yet can't figure out what's wrong with you or give you some solid advice or prescription. I don't know where she gets her high rating from but I would not recommend her if you want her to listen to your needs. What a waste of time.

I had been going to Dr. Kreng for a few years, and after this last visit realized she has never really helped me. I have medicines at home that have done nothing to cure an illness she has diagnosed. But this last diagnosis was so off base, that I had to go somewhere else to get diagnosed correctly. She knows very little about symptoms with people over 40 years old. Her bedside manner is very cold and distant. She just doesn't have enough experience for me to ever want to go back.

I have finally changed doctors!! This doctor rushes you out of her office, doesnt know compassion at all! Doesnt seem to car if you are in pain or not. I would NOT recommend this Dr. Specially as a family DR. She was very adamant that I was fine, finally went to another Dr and the diagnosed me correctly. Again DONT try this DR, Very rushy and doesnt geinually care about your well being.
